"The Duke" got "The Axe" from the Nats. He says he's going out to pasture.

Sounds like he is kinda bitter about getting "pushed out" of the last few places, and really wanted to stick around. I loved having him here, mainly b/c it brought back memories of him and the Hawk doing Sox games.

Looks like MLB needs to update those domain names... but check out some of the names of replacements being thrown around. Apparently Stoney wants to go back to the North Side, but they ain't listening. Would love to have him doing games down here.

This was discussed at WSI a few weeks ago when the story broke.

Where did you hear Stone wants back in with the Cubs? Per the article above, they indicated he wants to return to the booth. I thought Stone and Carey pretty much burned their bridges with all things WGN/Tribune.

Who knows how authoritative the source was, but supposedly some of his "friends" had stated he wanted to go back to the Scrubs. I think that hinged on the outside chance that Brenley(sp) would leave the booth to take the helm. Obviously that didn't pan out.

Pretty weird, eh? On some- actually most- links, it's updated. But there's always one or 2 that pop up now and again...
