CWS versus CHC

former Cub Jon Garland faces former Sox Jason Bere @ Mesa tomorrow afternoon...ESPN carries the broadcast, so I assume that means the Sox broadcast team.

CWS versus AZ

Gary Glover faces Curt Schilling @ Tucson tomorrow evening

I assume that you mean ESPN radio - AM1000, right? I haven't seen any listing that ESPN TV is carrying the game.

White Sox Spring Training Broadcast Schedule:

Ah, then it will be Rooney & Farmer. That means that I'll soon be hearing Cubbie fans complain about the Sox broadcasters, since I don't believe that WGN radio is carrying the broadcast.

Since I'm on this tangent, I heard Dan McNeil (ESPN AM 1000) talking 'bout radio broadcasters. Talking 'bout Santo he said something to the effect of, 'many people favor Santo because they like him not because he's good - 'cos he's not.'

Wow, when is the last time a former Cub pitcher on the Sox faced a former Sox pitcher on the Cubs? The last time I remember was Navarro vs. Tapani @ Comiskey. I think it was '99.

About the best thing I can say about Santo is that you can always tell how the game is going as soon as you tune in, just based on Santo's tone of voice.

Santo, it's understandable why so many Cubbie fans like his broadcasts. Ronnie is a passionate, emotional Cubbie fan. I have no idea from personal experience, but he comes across as a nice guy. But IMHO Ron rarely adds any insight into what's taking place on the field. Ron is probably close to the aged Harry for goofing up names and flubbing on what is going on in the game. As one example, the other day Ron said that Hee-Sop Choi was from Japan.

I've heard Ron on the radio with Mike North. Ron has gone thru quite a lot with his battle with diabetes. And I'm sad to hear that the poor guy lost his leg over the off-season. But IMHO Ron gets cut way too much slack because he's a likeable guy. As I've said Ron adds little to nothing in the way of baseball knowledge, he screws up way too much and his and Pat's schtick wears thin on me.

2 runs in 2 innings isn't getting shelled. But 20 runs in a game? That's 3 touchdowns and one missed field goal! LOL. A thorough a$$ whipping. "But it's Spring Training." Right? Who knew the White Sox were playing the sCrUBS at football today. After a few tough losses, the sCrUBS are exactly what the White Sox needed.
