Has anyone ever seen someone at the Cell that surprised you?

In 2005..I saw Maggie Ghyllenal at a game versus the Tigers..I think she was in town filming some movie with Will Ferrell at UIC..

I have also seen Lisa Dergan and Julia Roberts back at a game in 1996..

I was at the game back in 1991 where Madonna attended. She was sitting near the Sox dugout and I was sitting with our usual group in the outfield above the Sox bullpen. I brought my binoculars to the game but everyone wanted to borrow them so they could look for Madonna.
Robin Ventura also hit a grand slam in that game. :bandance:

Was it THE Robin Ventura grand slam? (You know of what I speak) Or just a Robin Ventura grand slam?

At the game the afternoon of the 4th of July this past season, I sat two rows behind this guy (http://www.chicagorush.com/roster_View.asp?ID=6&Unit=Coach). A bunch of people didn't recognize him (I did once I saw his face); but, some did and came up to him asking for an autograph or to just congratulate him for the Arena Bowl Championship.

Bill Murray was at THE Ventura grand slam game. The camera showed him two or three times during the celebration.

John Cusack at the old Comiskey Park. I was suprised to see that he was shorter than I was and I was in 7th grade at the time. I guess I thought he'd be taller because most of his roles up until then were big brother types.

I'm not entirely sure, but doesn't Steve Dahl have seats pretty much behind home plate? If it isn't him, there sure is a guy who looks a hellova like Steve, usually right behind the right handers batter box.

Ed McMahon. I went to one of those businessman's special games (weekday day games), and I was fortunate to have seats right behind home plate. McMahon was there and threw out the first pitch.

I also saw George Prescott Bush (grandson of George H.W. Bush and son of Jeb Bush) at a game, but I will not disclose what the Bush family is known for so that this thread does not go to the Roadhouse.

And then there was a Sunday afternoon game when I was sitting in right center field. About two rows in front of me was Kevin Butler who was there with a group.

I was at that game as well. I saw Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen a long time ago, maybe a year after New Comiskey opened. I also sat a row in front of Scott Podsedniks wife. Let me tell ya it was quite difficult paying attention to the game.

This doesn't really count as a celebrity since he was working the game at the time. In 83 Chet Coppock came down by us, we were right behind the Sox dugout. He had a blue blazer on and white pants and Warren Zevon would have been proud because his hair was perfect. He was trying to get Ozzie's attention on the field but Ozzie was too busy.

Some other guy yells out, "Hey Chet where's your yacht?" He just turned around and went back up the aisle.

1- Hal Vickery
2- hangar 18 (on tv)
3- Jim Edgar opening day when Bo hit a homer. My buddy knowing full well that Edgar was a tea tottler (sp?) tried to buy him a beer. The boys in the trench coats and sun glasses weren't to amused.

Ozzie's rookie year was 85 and I don't believe he was even in the organization until 84.

In the early 90's when they were filming the movie 'A League of Their Own,' in Indiana, the stars made frequent trips to Comiskey Park to watch the Sox at night after filming.

I have video that shows Jon Lovitz and Tom Hanks eating hots dogs, Madonna was at the park and so was director Penny Marshall.

On another occasion the late great Walter Payton was at the game, actually in the dugout before the start wearing a 'Real Men Wear Black' T-shirt and showing Tim Raines how to throw a breaking ball!

Yes Bill Murray, noted Cub fan was sitting behind home plate on July 31, 1991 when Robin hit the 9th inning grand slam off Goose to beat the Rangers. He was shown frequently during the celebration.

Many of the Bulls also showed up at the park including MJ, Scottie Pippen, Horace Grant and Wil Perdue. Again I've got it on video.

I saw Joan Cusack at the Sox-Yankees game back in August, we were both in line for hotdogs. Plus, at one of the last games of the season, there was a ton of player's families seated behind homeplate. I scored some tickets from work. Saw Lisa Dergan, Grandma Buehrle, Crede's family, Jenks' family, Alomar's wife (got to say hi to her cuz my aunt went to high school with her) and a few other wifes/girlfriends/kids.

Remember Morganna the Kissing Bandit? She passed by our seats during the All Star game at old Comiskey in 1983. A few minutes later, she was on the field in pursuit of left fielder Tim Raines, then with the Expos. George Burns sang during the seventh inning stretch that night. I also got fairly close to vice president Dan Quayle during the opening day at New Comiskey.

The usual suspects:

--John Cusack (sat directly behind him the season Comiskey II opened)
--Chet Coppock at the old park in a ridiculous mink winter coat
--Steve Dahl
--Double Duty Ratcliffe (sat next to him while ushering a handicap relative)
--Jerry Springer
--Harry Caray (used to wait for him after games next to the Bard's Room entrance for an autograph, or in centerfield).

For you younger fans here, there used to be a franchise in town called the Blackhawks :D: . They used to actually be good.

Anyway I met Jeremy Roenick at a game on the consourse. Nicest guy in the world. I felt bad because after I stopped him just to say "hey, big fan", a line like you wouldn't believe formed behind me. Roenick stayed on the concourse forever and signed autographs. Such a great guy, must be why the Blackhawks got rid of him shortly thereafter. They'd rather get players that nobody has ever heard of with names we'll never remember.
