One that can be easily masked,I guess.
Put him back on the sCrUBS,and let him strike out swinging
12 times against the Sox in the Crosstown Classic.

Sosa, whose last season with the Orioles ended with a .221 batting average and 14 home runs, said several teams have shown interest but did not specify which clubs.

why?:?:

Anywho, no matter where he ends up, he'll want to go on the DL when his team comes to Chicago.

Sosa will come back as a skinny man and his alibi will be that he played winter ball down in Venezuela.

Who would want him?

Either the Hackinsack Bulls or that team Jose Canseco throws HR's, I mean, pitches for.

I cannot see ANY team wanting him.

For what, to have a circus of media following them around asking what he used and when is he going to be released?

I don't see WAS, KC, TB, or any of the usual suspects even wanting to try him for free!

Oh, well, a certain northide team needs a LF...........................

The real question is that if only the nationals made a bid for him a year ago, why does he think that he's so sought after now

Or it may all be a setup for his new Jenny Craig commercial.

...And yet ANOTHER article about the raging, selfish, megalomaniacal former Tribune employee, with nary a mention of the words "steroids", "HGH" or "spousal battery". Paul Sullivan and Ann Marie Lipinski, you are a bastion of journalistic integrity.

CSN is airing some special interview with Sosa from the DR tomorrow night.
http://chicago.comcastsportsnet.com/view_content_0p.asp?ID=39866

They showed some video of Sosa having a birthday party at home and Salma Hayek showed up! Lucky man!

Don't forget the ten thousand dollars in cash he reported stolen from his hotel room in Miami nor the arrest of his close friend Manny Alexander in Chicago and when police searched the car they found steroids and syringes in the glove compartment.

Also I believe Steve Rosenbloom in his Tribune blog today makes fun of the size of Sosa's head. He dissed him pretty good.

What's with the sudden "All Things Sammy" the last few days with TribCo. ? Fred Mitchell writes a couple of softball articles on him, complete with a photo of The Wife Beater standing next to a huge portrait of..himself. That, and then, last night again, on Chicago Tribune Live, they discuss him coming back, the birthday party he throws himself, and touch lightly on steroids. Now, today, Rick Morrissey actually writes a pretty good article taking him to task. Only question have for Lil Ricky is why didn't he raise these issues between 1997-2004 ? (I think we all know the answer to that). Is the Tribune checking the wind for the possibility of bringing this megalomaniac back into the fold, with things like having him appear at the "Stupidity Conven"...err..I mean "Cub Fan Convention", or in the near future, having a "Sammy Sosa Day" at the Urinal, where they honor him and retire his number ?

My immediate response was to say, "No way! Not even the Cubs are that dumb." Then, I caught myself and realized that it would be perfect Cub to do just that.

Another one out today. Same story. I think he's trying to get reporters down there so he's not forgotten about. I think time's going to run out on this guy. No one is going to take him.

I found this part amusing:

A year away from the game wouldn't shake him, he said.

"Ted Williams went to war and lost a couple years. More recently, Barry Bonds stayed away for more than a year and came back, and the same happened with Frank Thomas because of injuries," he said.

That's an awful comparison. In all three cases, the players involved had no choice but to sit. It wasn't a case of being forced to not play because no one wanted them, which is the case with Sosa.

It would have to be an American league team only (because Sham-ME*'s defensive skills are probably on par with mine these days), and one willing to have its clubhouse disrupted by Shamster's fake sunny, oversized personality, especially if he does well.

I can only imagine a desperate bottom-feeder like the Royals wanting to pick him up, and even that seems unlikely.

Someone will probably take him at the right price, with an incentive-laden contract. Considering the crazy contracts being thrown around, he might end up being a bargain if he can still hit with power, post-steroid era.

Sosa reminds me of that old skit on Carol Burnett. She plays a washed up, old actress who thinks she's still a star, years after her prime. What fueled her, and I'm sure the Sham-meister, is her people telling her that she was still great. You know, pumping up the ex-star, so they can mooch a pay check.

Yesterday, CSN re-ran their recent interview with him, on the occasion of his big birthday bash. For some reason I watched, which renewed my loathing of the guy. What a smug piece of ****. You could make the case that McGwire has shown a bit of remorse and Bonds at least faces some consequences for what he did. But Sosa's scot-free down there in the Dominican, giving interviews in -- if not impeccable -- quite passable English, after he hid behind language difficulties in Washington.

I really hope someone brings him back, so his quest for 600 becomes a freakish sideshow to Bonds's chase of Aaron. Sosa deserves as much. I don't think he's got 12 homers left in him.

out of all the teams in the majors, somebody out there would give him a minor league deal and invite him to spring training with the hope of catching lightning in a bottle. The question is, will that sate his ego?

cause he certainly isn't going to start the season with the big club unless he murders the ball in the spring and in AAA.
