Didn't see this posted anywhere, so I thought I'd bring it out. They were talking on White Sox Weekly about the possibility of Frank Catalanatto coming to the Sox. He might not be a bad pickup. What do you think?

He doesn't steal bases.

He doesn't steal bases.

or hit well against lefties, or hit for any power, or play good defense. But you are right - he doesn't steal bases either.

He's a fine 4th OF.

NOT THIS **** AGAIN!!!!!

Frank Catalanotto is a poor defensive player. He can't hit lefties. He has no power. He has no speed. But goddamn, he has a decent OBP, so he's the answer.

Dear Frank, please retire so WSIers will stop advocating for your acquisition.

Thanks, JB

I would rather have Pods in LF next year.

I agree with the other posters. The Sox don't need Cattalonotto.

Podsednik is a better one.

One of, if not the worst, outfielders in baseball. Pass.

Sign him. Have him lead off every game. When he walks, immediately put in Pods as a pinch runner to steal second and third.

Podsednik is a better one.

A better what?

When Pods is "right", he's a good everyday player. He's had 2 AWESOME seasons out of his 5 years. At least he can hit well, get on base, run, and impact a lineup in terms of how pitchers pitch and teams defend.

When Cat is right, he should be a platoon player, more likely just a pinch hitter. He has no power. He has no speed. he plays bad defense.

Neither of them should play every day for the Sox next year.

A better 4th OF. I thought that was pretty clear.

Podsednik isn't good enough to play every day, but he is good enough to spell guys, and come in when a base needs to be stolen.

Cattalanotto makes no sense for the White Sox. He's already here, and his name is Rob Mackowiak.

Podsednik had one great year, and one decent year. And the rest were subpar.

I'd still rather have him than Cat though.

Well said, and Rob can run better too.

Pods actually wasn't too bad stealing bases after mid-2006; I think the hernia really slowed him down for the first two months or so. Pods' real problem in 2006 was getting on base in the first place. Still, I hope you caught the tongue-in-cheek nature of my post, designated by the  . Do I really have to put everything in teal? :o:

No thanks. I'll take Pods or Mack over him.
