View Full Version : Thome and Jenks On Halloween - Nice Story

My brother lives in the same western suburb as Thome and Jenks. On Halloween, Jim sat in a chair in his foyer signing autographed photos to go along with the candy. Any kid who wanted a picture with him got one. Jenks lives a few blocks away and was signing candy bars and having a great time. It appears Thome has taken Jenks under his wing a little bit. Thome indicated to my brother [who has met Thome a number of times] that he and Jenks workout together with a personal trainer and that he expects Bobby to have even better numbers next season. Thome also said "the sky's the limit" for Sweeney.

Anyhow, a nice early November story about our lads.

I guess our old friend Albert Belle does not live in the same neighborhood.

If we got to pick anyone on the Sox to be a mentor to Bobby, Thome would be the best choice. Thanks for sharing the story.

What a great story. I bet all the Sox fans living in their suburb had a great Halloween. Now I know where to go next year:cool:

Excellent story. I think it's great that Thome lives here year-round...he actually lives right by one of my buddy's in-laws.

And all I got when I was a kid were apples and little bags of candy corn. Why couldn't my parents have let me be born about 45 years later and in that neighborhood.

That is great to hear. We all know that as an older guy on the team, Thome takes especially good care of himself to be the best he can be. (I swear that before games of all the guys I notice stretching and warming up, my eye always goes to him, he seems to go that extra mile to stay healthy... and also remember he opted out of the HR derby so as to not strain himself) He can only help Bobby become better with the routine he's got going.

...........what was that address again?.............

I thought Thome lived in Cleveland where his wife is a television personality. I guess he got sick of being booed every time he opened his front door to pick up the paper.

Great story! I think next October will be a busy one for us.

We should get a pool going for the number of PM's and emails he has received asking which suburb.

Wait a minute Thome and Jenks live in the suburbs?? I think the Sox should trade those turncoats. Bums!!

They live not to far from where I live, if that's any clue.

You're forgetting your own stupid cub fan moments. He was actually a she and not only did she shake her head, that classless bitch had the nerve to break out the sterotypes and call you a thug after you threw your popcorn at her and dumped your coke on her lap.
