No on field action this month, but a lot of off field moves....managers hired, managers fired, some big trades, the mother of all free agent signings and the sad saga of Sox star Monty Stratton.
November 3, 1988 - The Sox name Jeff Torborg as the team’s new field manager. Torborg a former major league catcher, and Indians manager, gains notable success with the club. His ‘team and family’ philosophy takes hold and a young group of players stun the baseball world by winning 94 games in 1990. He would be named Manager of the Year that season.
