It looks like the error thing is catching. The Cards error was shameful and they paid for it.

That could be what the Tigers need and what can take everything away from the Cards.

Chris Duncan plays RF like the villagers are chasing him with torches.

How long until his dad blames USA Today for that error?

That could be what the Tigers need and what can take everything away from the Cards.

What the *****cats need is a miracle and there was no divine intervention that half inning. Just a sloppy play by a rookie right fielder.

3-2 :supernana: :gulp: :supernana:

I don't think it's a "fix", I just think that these guys (detoilet pitchers) have a hard time throwing to bases.

They seem like they are trying to simply "flip" or "toss" the ball over to the base, like how kids used to do on the Bozo show. Instead of actually PLANTING their feet and throwing at normal speed.

Either way, it is BEYOND AWESOME!!!!:supernana: :D:

Geezus, you just took the words right out of my mouth. I've never been so jaw-droppingly unimpressed with a team that's about to win the World Series. Pujols is a great hitter, but the rest of this team is absolutely mediocre at best. It's not even about the fact that the Sox destroyed these guys one night by 20 runs. They've got Chris Duncan and Aaron Miles in their starting lineup for the love of god. Jeff Weaver is pitching a 2-run game through 7. Just pathetic.

How is this happening?

This is ridiculous; the WS has to end in early October. Either the number of games in the season get cut (lets start with the crossovers please) or MLB starts to play more double headers.

What a joke; an eighty-three win team managed by the great Tony LaRussa more than likely wins the WS.

Pathetic...

I don't know; I am hoping the AL Central becames what the AL East was early in the 1980s.Two AL Central teams in the World Series in two back-to-back years and two ALC teams making the playoffs this year is pretty darn good. I don't think it's necessary for the Tigers to win the World Series in order for the AL Central to get respect. It has already been earned.

I am going to taunt the Twins fans for getting swept in the 1st round.

I will then taunt the Tigers fans for being embarrased in the World Series.

I will then taunt all the flubs fans about the fact that the 2 teams they hate most just won the last 2 World Series.

Yes, it is going to be incredibly fun. If you saw how big of morons the fans of these teams were as much as I did out at the park last year, you would be licking your chops like I am.

Congrats to the Cardinals. It was fun to watch the Kitties implode.

As a side note, anyone else amused by this year's pitching revelation from McCarver?

Last year, we learned a drop and drive pitcher "drops and drives"

This year? I heard the excuse that pitchers have trouble throwing balls to bases because they're used to putting movement on balls. Come again? throwing a ball with movement requires a certain grip and a certain arm movement. VASTLY different from fielding a ball and throwing to first or third base...no?

2003 - Marlins ruin the Cubs' chances
2004 - Boston Red Sox End Their "Curse"
2005 - Cross-Town rivals win first World Series in decades, leaving the Cubs to rot as the most pathetic team in recent baseball history
2006 - St. Louis Cardinals, our despised nemesis to the South claims victory, pouring salt in last year's wounds.

I don't believe in curses, but I do believe that some sort of higher force plays a role in sports--at some level. Regardless of what one believes, this has to be some sort of sign.
