Ritchie is pitching

c Paul
1b Liefer
2b Durham
3b Valentin
SS Clayton
LF Rowand
CF Lofton
RF Magglio

Ritchie struck out the first 2 batters then got Gonzo on a long fly to right in the top of the 1st.

Pitching: Mike Morgan

Lofton - Bunt, safe at first. Stole second.

Durham - Sac bunt. Lofton to third. One out.

Thomas - Pops out. Two outs.

Magglio - Walk. Men on first and third.
Steals Second. Men on second and third.

Rowand - Grounds out to Shortstop.

Fun fact, Thomas has never gone more than 2 games without getting on base.

Unfortuantely I have to go so I can't post anymore. See everyone later.

I'm downloading the player right now. Still has 15 mintues to go though.

Good to see that our two new players are doing well so far. Lofton and Ritchie.

czalgosz
03-03-2002, 02:45 PM
Sox are making things happen on the basepaths - not scoring, but getting SBs and advancing on grounders, which they never did last year.

Sox starting lineup -

1. Lofton
2. Durham
3. Thomas
4. Ordonez
5. Rowand
6. Valentin
7. Liefer
8. Clayton
9. Paul

Pete_SSAC
03-03-2002, 02:47 PM
OK, I got it now. Going into the top of the third, D-Backs leading 2-0

In the bottom of the second, Leifer walked with one out, took second on a wild pitch. Clayton advanced Leifer to third with a ground out. Josh Paul grounded out to second to end the inning.

Spring Training doesn't mean a thing - pitchers are just trying to find their spots, batters are trying to get their timing down. don't pay. Worry about it in April.

Well, some hitters have real trouble seeing the ball unless they are hitting the same way as the pitcher is throwing. Maybe Borchard would be just awful against lefties if he faced them lefthanded. Then again, some switch-hitters do convert to straight lefty or straight righty at some point in their career.

Yeah, its relatively knew. Apparently, when he reported to camp a few weeks ago, his head was completely shaved except for a mullet in the back or something along those lines.

See what happens when you get sent to a California organization for a while??? :D:

OK that's a bad look, no matter where you are from. Why would anyone do that to themself?

Yeah, that is probably a good point, I remember him last year talking about practicing batting LH against LH-ers and he said that he didn't have much success with it...

We'll see right here if Dellaero can pull off that 2-run homer he did in the intrasquad game...

Dellaero is an example of a guy who started out switch-hitting and later stopped. Dellaero's pretty much a straight righty now.

hmmmm...I did not know that...but I don't think it helped much in his case (career BA - .178?)

Yep... If Dellaero could hit at all, we'd have seen him by now. It's a shame that a guy with such good defensive skills can't break into the majors.

Game over. Even though it is Spring Training, it's a good feeling to get a win.

Yep... A lot of positives out of this game.

The Sox ran like crazy on Arizona, came from behind for win #1 of Spring Training, and everyone outside of Ritchie looked good on the bump.

Hopefully Ray's hammy is OK.

Hell yeah!
