Souhan is one of the worst writers out there... According to him, not only did Torii's misplay in the outfield NOT happen, it was Cuddyer's fault.

Take it for what it's worth. But Souhan is the Minneapolis version of Moronitti...

FWIW,the play DID happen, but I was immediately asking "where's the backup". The RF took a hell of a long time to get over to that ball, which was a major factor in it being an ITPHR. I believe the guest commentators on ESPN said the same thing.

The point was that Souhan isn't a good or unbiased writer here. He has some serious man-love for T.Hunter. He's been advocating the Twins picking up the option all summer long, using the argument that Torii is the "face of the franchise", and nobody will know what to do if they trade/release him... Hell, I've heard people complain that the play was Bartlett's fault, for not turning a double play on the previous play.

Anything to NOT blame Hunter for a really bad decision. Basically, Torii is the teflon fielder. Cuddyer and Bartlett get the blame. And that's crap.
