I don't know if anyone else has heard this, but I heard from someone that the sox might try to go after Aaron. Although his baserunning in the playoffs last year was atrocious, I think he was the piece we were missing this year.
The reason being is because we need him as a team leader. He seemed like one of the most emotional on the team in 2005.

Any thoughts?

Aaron Rowand is mediocre. The Phillies made their run when he wasn't playing. He's not coming back, although he's certainly available because Victorino is a better player.

Joe Borchard is also not coming back, teal or not.

We have several capable CF players and Mr. Crash is NOT coming back! I'd go as far as to guarantee it! If I'm wrong, gladly quote me in your sig and I will humbly put on one of these faces... followed by one of these...

Oh my christ!

http://whitesoxinteractive.com/chisox716/Rowand1.gif

Guess what... Aaron Rowand was a average, over-hyped player. I've NEVER seen a FANBASE over-rate a single player than I have Sox fans with Rowand.

He's gone, if he's this great clubhouse Jesus Christ like most people think he is, why arn't the Phillies in the playoffs?

The reason why our Sox are not in the playoffs is NOT, I repeat, NOT becuase of Rowand not being here. Look to the left field bullpen for that answer.

I think everyone is being a little harsh in this thread. Aaron may just be what this team needs. We all saw what he did for Philadelphia, Phillies and their fans earlier this year. I personally have never seen a city or team so fired up in my life and they rode his awesomeness all the way to well the same place the Sox are but that doesn't matter. Aaron is the type of player who will go to a Bears game and get drunk and then start singing bad songs in the locker room. Do you see Jim Thome doing any of that? We don't even need to mention his stats or his fielding abilities. Sure he hits no better than Anderson did in the second half and he couldn't play centerfield in a shoe box but on my playstation game he is the best centerfielder in the game. I really think Kenny Williams needs to make this happen. Trade Garcia, McCarthy and
Sweeney/Anderson for Rowand and a Triple-A bullpen arm.

Fixed that for you. However, the Triple-A guy has to have fire and be intense or it's a no go.

What are our thoughts?:rolling: :whatever: Please Please Please tell me this was suppose to be in Teal? This is about the 5000th We need Aaron back because this is why our team did not make the playoffs. :whatever:AGAIN The Aaron Lovefest is DISGUSTING! You would think he was the ****ing Michael Jordan of the White Sox. My lord. He was an average center field and if was such a god I am sure that Kenny would have kept him. We played like **** because our pitching sucked and the 2nd half our offense went through I forgot how to hit spells. Aaron is in Phillie. Stop believing airport rumors. Can we please the perma Aaron lovefest Thread? Maybe next year we can get cheerleaders for the Sox since that is what Aaron was so it seems.

I was hoping KW would be able to pull of a Barry/Berry type steal by telling the Phillies that he said Anderson or Sweeney and not Anderson and Sweeney but you are probably right.

Really the Phillies could sign and make Politte that Triple-A bullpen guy and we would still be ripping them off.

I am amazed. Why does this still come up?!?!

In 2046 there will still be people starting threads about how, despite the broken hip and hearing aid, the Sox could really benefit from the fire Rowand brings to the clubhouse...

Sure, bring him back. Give him loose fitting clothes and the title "Head Cheerleader" and between innings, he can hop up on the Sox dugout and get the fans fired up. During the innings, he can give out backslaps and attaboy's to everyone to keep them fired up.

That is what he is good for. Just keep a bat and glove away from him. He could hurt himself.

The other funny thing is that Everett did not mention A-Row as a "team leader." Of course, some would look at more conspiracy theories for who he did list.

I've never seen two players more overhyped in this town than Rowand and Carl Everett. Rowand is an average offensive player at best and Anderson is as good if not better than him in defense. I know Rowand's sportscenter highlights look nice, but for a player that has never been an all star once (and you don't even have to be good to be a MLB all star), there sure is a lot of support for him.
