They've lost 7 HOME playoff games in a row?

WoW.

And poor Torii Hunter made a critical mistake that came around to cost the Twins because of that stupid roof...didn't that happen against the Sox in our series against them as well?

Man, they have to use Radke in Game 3, Santana back again in Game 4 (three days' rest) and then either Silva, Bonser or Garza in Game 5.

The Twins, obviously, are in trouble.

Make that 8 home losses in a row...between these two teams, they're the bane of our existence. Strange stuff, especially after the 87 and 91 World Series.

Never would have thought that. I believe the Twins are the only team to not win a road playoff game on their way to winning the World Series (in '87).

How many consecutive home playoff games did the Sox lose between '59 and '05? Had to be 9, right?

Working backwards ...

'00 lost 2 of 2
'93 lost 3 of 3
'83 lost 2 of 2
'59 -- not sure, but I think they lost the last 2 home games

That'd be 9.

Yep, they won the first home game and dropped the final two home games.

And now since losing the 2000 season in Seattle on a walk-off bunt, the Sox have won six consecutive road postseason games.

They snapped their home winning streak a year ago against Boston, but still lost at home once in their 11-1 playoff run. Their current two-game home postseason winning streak is at least a start.

well I wouldn't write of the Twins just yet.....The A's seem to have this problem winning the third they need in ALDS

In the 87 playoffs they won games 4 and 5 in Detroit to win the series 3-1.

That was back when MLB alternated home field advantage so a 98 win team was on the road against an 85 win team.

The Sox did lose nine straight home postseason games between Game #2 of the 1959 World Series and Game #2 of the 2000 ALDS.

The all time major league record for most home postseason losses is ten straight set by the Phillies (I think...)
