You know Tom Hicks wants him gone bad when he eats the $5+ million contract. Who are they going to get to replace him?

Showalter is one of the few managers I think that does MLB a disservice. His idea of playing hard is thru the beanball. I don't think I've seen one team piss off as many other teams as Texas.
Let's just say, I'm not crying for Buck..

Showalter is a loser as a manager. Period. He would be a better executive, due to his fastidious style.

:D: Yeah does this mean the Rangers are going to be serious WS contenders in 2007?
The Yankees and D-backs both won it all after he left.

So does MLB go on or will they have to form a new league? Showalter does own major league baseball right?

I still don't understand these. They're hilarious, but I still don't get it. Is it just chat room logs or what?

I don't want to pat myself on the back for predicting this a couple weeks ago in another thread, but I will anyway:D:

That would be quite hilarious.

Good riddance.
Maybe Vincente Padilla can take a linear to the head and that will be that.
I'm certainly not wishing it, but I'll damn well cheer it if it comes up.

Who better than The Man Who Invented Baseball to manage The Team That Everyone Loves?
Showalter's a toad. The Rangers were saps to give him a long-term contract in the first place. But then this is the same organization that gave A-Rod a contract worth $900,000,000,000 per year for 83 years and then acted surprised when it didn't work out.

If they're going to win the series regardless of the manager, why not just Bevington or something.

Former Sox catcher Don Wakamatsu one of the candidates to replace him. Not bad, we also had Joel Skinner. And maybe Fisk or Sandy Alomar, Jr.

So, does he leave the Keys To Baseball in his office in Texas, for the next guy, or does he take them with him ? I'm pretty sure he owns Major League Baseball, and had The Keys, so who gets them now ? Do Tony LaRussa and Bob Brenly, keepers of the Book Of Unwritten Rules of Baseball get custody of them ?

I just can't believe that the man who invented baseball is out of a job. Absolutely shameful!

I hope not, because that means they could win a WS after they get rid of him.
