Of course, the Royals had them to their last out in the bottom of the 9th and Mauer hit a homer. 1-1 game.

The Twins now have 1st and 3rd, one out...with a chance to win it and be tied with the Tigers going into the final weekend.

Bases loaded, one out. Morneau on third with the winning run after a two iron into LCF to start the inning.

Bartlett rips one over the CFer's head...DET and MIN now tied. KC had the bases loaded, nobody out in the Top of the 9th and they couldn't score a single run. What else is new?

Little too late for that (see 2006 Chicago White Sox and various fantasy baseball starts / Detroit games earlier this season).

I blame the White Sox Pride Club (which included free audio). When I bought the audio ala carte things were fine (the past several seasons). :D:

You wanted a meaningful last weekend of the season? You got it. You wanted a chance to prove that the progressive laydown of the past two months was a mere aberration? You got it.

This weekend should be a good test of whether our Sox need just a tweaking for 2007 or much more. I anxiously await the results.

I want to see the Sox sweep the Twins, but I hate the Tigers as much as I hate the Twins. If the Tigers actually do squander that big lead they had, I wouldn't be all that upset. Too bad it would have to be to the Twins.

Screw the Twins; here's the White Sox chance for a little redemption.

The White Sox should do everything in their power to sweep the series.

This is a big series for the Twins.

I hope the Sox ruin it for them by taking 2 of 3 or sweeping.

Agreed, although the key word all year has been "should."

They won't. I'd be shocked if the Sox won two games this weekend. I mean come on, Cy Bonser, Cy Garza, and Cy Baker are pitching for the Twins.

I just saw a stat today, the Twins have won 70 out of their last 101 games. Holy ****!!!!

Wish we wouldve taken care of things a month ago. The SOX are not in an enviable position this weekend.

About the best (and only thing) is we take 2/3 or sweep and then can claim throughout the offseason that because we pushed them into a match-up with the Yankees, it kept them from making it to the World Series.

Not much to get excited about, but better than nothing I guess.

OTOH, we could sweep them and they could say they wanted to play the Yankees (if they do end up winning that series against all odds). I don't expect them to let up this weekend though. It's going to be either very embarassing (like the last month) or at least one positive to hang our hats on going into the offseason.
