Yes, I received a duplicate set of playoff tickets as well, in two envelopes. I also received two sets of parking passes.

Sadly, it appears that these will just be a souvenir/sad reminder of what should have/could have been...

Anyone else have this?Yep, I got two complete sets, too, along with duplicate parking passes. I can only imagine the mess that would have created, due to people selling their extra parking tags to defray the cost of game tickets -- more tags than parking spots, in other words. Thank god we don't have to worry about that.

Seems like a huge waste of printing/shipping.

They have to do it. In the unlikely event that we win out and Minnesota loses out, we make the playoffs. Even though it ain't gonna happen, they have to plan on it happening. You know how many NL teams that wont be in the postseason probably mailed playoff tickets?

Same with me, two sets of tickets and parking passes shipped in seperate DHL packages.

I guess that explains why they charge $25 for shipping and handling, doing everything twice they probably broke even.

They don't have to send two sets. I was talking about the error sending me two sets of 2 ticket sheets in 2 seperate envelopes.
I emailed my rep and they realized the error this morning.

Why do have to mail out two sets of tickets seperately?

I also got two tix... People have been saying the parking could have put extra money in their pockets... just think about the unscrupulous people who'd want to sell one of the games - to TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE... at 1,000 per ticket or more? That could've been ugly... but unfortunately they didn't make it anyways...

I couldn't even bring myself to open the envelope. What a kick in the groan (as Archie Bunker would say) getting those tickets the day the Sox get eliminated. Last time I felt like this I was about 5 years old, got in trouble, got smacked AND grounded. I know nobody is "to blame" but the timing really sucked on this one.

No, its not ok under any circumstance that the sox didn't go back.can you imagine the cluster**** that would be two sets of LIVE tickets out in the open market. THEN add guys selling on the ticketexchange, and people emailing tickets, and then people selling now ded sold/forwarded tickets on the street...it would be a nightmare..and the sox would be a laughingstock

again...scalpers ordered ALOT of tickets this year....now imagine them getting DOUBLE of what they ordered....i dont trust those scumbags any further than i can throw them

I got mine today -- the ALCS tickets (I'm an Ozzie Plan holder).

I framed tickets from unplayed games in the ALDS, ALCS, and WS in 2005. No way am I framing these ... :(:

Ditto. Interestingly enough (or maybe not), they did send two full, uncut sheets that included the tie-breaker game, the ALDS, the ALCS, and one WS ticket, all for my one ALDS ticket on each sheet. The rest of them say "VOID" on them. Just a little more salt to rub into the wound as a reminder of woulda coulda shoulda...

Who needs two?

Got mine yesterday via DHL as well. And like everyone else, I have duplicate tickets. I have no clue why, but as others in this thread have said, it could have been a potential nightmare.:o:

Anyway, they do look really cool, the only problem I have is that they did not use enough color combos, they are kind of plain.

Oh well, they will make for a cool souviner. I plan on framing them and putting them next to my framed World Series tickets from 1994.:whiner:

Irony, I guess. Like the story Carl Sagan tells of keeping a postcard on the wall. Something to the effect of "Things are looking up and I'm having the time of my life."

The postcard, of course, was sent from the Titanic one day before it sank.

I'll buy someone's tix if they don't want them.

Has anyone heard anything official from the White Sox (or the media about what a circus The Cell would've been) about how this big of a screwup could have possibly happened?

Personally if I had been in charge of the project...I would imagine it going like this:
Step 1 - figure out how many to print (say 50,000).
Step 2 - order 55,000 ticket blanks (10% extra for screw-ups)
Step 3 - have the printer start printing
Step 4 - get a call we're out of blanks with 20,000 more tickets to print and then I'd realize there was a problem....

I mean seriously, how could they have done this? Has anyone seen anywhere in the media people talking about what an absolute circus it could've been? I haven't.
I would be sooooooooooooooo embarrassed if I were part of the sox right now...

No one cares because it didn't actually happen, aparently.

An almost disaster really isn't a big deal. It only becomes a big deal when there is an actual disaster. Plus, everyone is focusing on how the 2005 World Series Champs didn't make the playoffs. Now that is a disater.

Neat looking tickets. Why would you throw them away?
They are still a souvenir from the 2006 season. I know most of you couldn't wait to get the tickets before we were statistically eliminated but now you your just going to toss them?:?:
