"Nah,'' Thomas said. "I don't live for that kind of stuff. With Sammy coming to camp, that's becoming more of a staged show. But that's him. He's always craved the attention, even when he was a kid playing on this team. I'm not a background guy, but I don't like all the cameras in my face.''

:D:

From what I've read about Thomas lately, he's winning major points with me.

I've got a good feeling about Frank this year. A healthy Kenny Lofton getting on base 40% of the time in the first inning would help.

If Lofton's OBP comes anywhere near .400 I'll be estatic beyong belief...... .370 is the number I'm hoping for

I seem to remember seeing a split in his numbers where his 1st inning OBP was higher than the rest of the game. It seems right just from watching him play, too.

Well if his OBP is .400 for the 1st inning and .200 for any other...that isnt going to do it for me either...just because it isnt the 1st inning doesnt mean the run doesnt count

I doubt the dropoff is that severe. And I'd rather score a run in the first than in any other inning, over the course of the season.

Well I'd rather concentrate on the guys total OBP rather than break it down to the first....but I dont even know if we are disagreeing anymore.......maybe just saying two different things that go to the same point

Yes...hope springs eternal:) Should be a fun year, or to be more exact a fun number of years.........good times....might get to the point where going to the game entails more thought than just showing up :D:

I wonder if other mlb players are tired of Sammy schtick? Now that Grace is not on the cubs, I like him he's a nold school type player,Can you image if he was still on the team and he saw sammy come into the clubhouse "Good Morning america, I'm in the house" no wonder he wanted out of the org
