The Phillies decided to leave their AAA home of Scranton (of The Office fame) and the city grabbed the Yankees. Its a real great deal for the county b/c there are more yankees fans there than philly fans anyway. The mets and the yankees both wanted to move there but the county picked the yanks....

The Phillies plan to move Ottawa to Allentown in 2008 so that is why they left Scranton.

I would like to see the White Sox move into Columbus

Yankees were upset with Columbus fans a few years back when they booed Drew Henson all the time. Seems Henson was never forgiven for being from Michigan

EDIT Columbus is now Washington's AAA

Can you imagine the kind of crowd that Phil Hughes could draw if he were to start the home opener for the Scantron/Wilkes Barre Yankees?

Columbus is scheduled to get a new downtown stadium in 2008 (http://clippersbaseball.com/news/?id=3050).

The Norfolk Tides also became Baltimore's AAA team as part of the shake up. Norfolk claimed that they were interested in parting ways with the Mets before the Mets were interested in Scranton. They claim the Omar Nemiya (whoever the Mets' GM is) didn't attend ONE game this year. I think the Mets are now interested in Las Vegas.

The New Orleans Zephyrs have become the Mets' AAA team.

WOW! That's a lot of shuffling for the AAA club affiliations. To bad I think the Rainiers visit NO this year instead of them coming to Tacoma...would have loved to see the Mets AAA club come though.
