Will they be like the Braves and win another six in a row before finally falling into second?

I'm concerned about the fact that two NY teams were the two first teams to clinch.

I am really not in the mood to see a New York WS.

I'm not in the mood for another all NYC WS, either. The Fox Sports people would drop to their knees and thank the stars above for a Subway Series. Just imagining what Joe Buck would sound like talking about the Mets and Yanks makes my head hurt. The 2005 WS DVD will get a good run in my house this year if the Mets and Yanks are playing each other.

Heck, who am I kidding? It's going to be watched a lot no matter who is playing this October.

If it's NY/NY I'll be pulling for the Mets for the first time since--the last "Subway Series" :puking:

I'll be AL and Yankee all the way.

I might be the only person outside NY to like George.

I love his desire to win and willingness to put a zillion bucks in his team to back it up.

No, it isn't fair. But the last 5 years prove $$ doesn't guarantee a thing. Still, he is driven to win and will do whatever it takes to go for the gold.

Shouldn't every team wish they had a George calling the shots?

Buy! Sell! Buy more! I need another ring!

I'm still undecided. I hate to switch to the NL, but the thought of Roidboy with a ring on his finger make me want to hurl. Twins, no way. Morneau is kinda up there with Roidboy on my **** list.

The last time FOX had the Yankees/Mets series it did big ratings only in New York, the rest of the country ignored it.

However this time the Mets are a team that people might like

Boston still trying to figure out how it all went so bad. Getting swept by the Yankees in August pretty much ended their season and if they lose to the Twins they will have been swept for the season series 6-0 to Minnesota.

Oh ya losing 5 in a row to the Royals didn't help either.

I enjoy watching the Mets (Beltran, Wright, Reyes, Delgado, and Chicago's very own Cliff Floyd). If they make the WS, it'll be interesting to see how much of their dominance was the result of the crappy league in which they play.

I'm going to root for the American League team, even if its the Yankees. I would hate for any National League team to win it because none of them would have even made it to the playoffs in the AL.

.

I suspect this will again be the case. The rest of the country will sour during the play-offs when they're once again bombarded by the medias love fest for both NY teams to meet again in a WS.

Just no Twins for me, anything else would be about the same with this bunch of playoff teams.

I wouldn't mind seeing Tigers vs Mets in the World Series. I think that could be an entertaining World Series. Two big cities and two teams who haven't won a championship since the mid-80s locking horns. I know I won't be rooting for the Yankees and I certainly WON'T be rooting for Justin "The most important thing is Chicago not making it" Morneau and the Twins. I love Frank Thomas but the thought of hearing those air horns and drums from the A's fans all through October gives me a headache just thinking about it.

So I guess it didn't count since it was so lowly rated.

Grinder Rule #179: World Series championships only count when the ratings are high. Low-rated WS titles will be relinquished and distributed among the non-winning 29 teams to make up for lost TV revenue.

What do you mean "during the playoffs?" MLB.com is already talking about it.

"The second step towards a possible Subway World Series II was taken Wednesday night when the New York Yankees joined the crosstown Mets as division champions."

I'm hoping for a Tigers-Dodgers series. That would be good.

I hate the Yankees with every fiber in my body, more than any team in all of sports.

Also with the Mets we get to see Sox alumni Juice, Duque, Berto and Josey. I'll be cheering for them more than I have any NL team in recent memory.

Hey y'all...

I want to be one of the first to congratulate your Yankees for another division title. Needless to say, your team played very well this year, and while other teams like mine were either scrambling to make playoff runs and such, the Yanks were just steadlily winning games.

My White Sox will most likely not make the playoffs because they've underachieved all season...lack of strong starting pitching, the bullpen not performing as well as last year, not hitting well enough in clutch situations, and other intangibles that seperate the "men" from the "boys" if you will. I'm certainly not looking for sympathy, but you all know that once you've tasted the sweet taste of victory, you want it again and again.

You have a great team this year. Continued success, and all the best in the playoffs

I'm giving the Yankees my full support in the playoffs.

I'm not watching. Not this year...it's too soon.

Yankees vs. Twins is not the same as running through the rain from the train station to the nearest neighborhood bar just in time to see El Duque pull off the miracle inning to end all miracle innings.
