This isn't over yet, not quite.

Do you want them to win? If so get to these games on the homestand and cheer your brains out, they need us behind them.

I'm going Thursday and I can't wait. Late September, chill in the air, pennant race. Damn exciting.

Let's Go Sox!!!!!!!!

There you go! The season isn't over yet we have 3 with Detriot and 3 with the Twins might as well cheer them on instead of saying "The Season is Over" Lets Go White Sox we are behind you 100%!!

The Sox are going to catch fire and end the season on a high note, with the momentum carrying through the series. This team has it in them. There is no reason they can't rip off a 10-2 or 11-1 streak. It's time to do it. Now.

Can I have some of the Kool-Aid you're drinking? At the rate we are winning games right now we are going to need help from one of the two teams. Even if we do finish the season 10-2 (which is highly unlikely) we are still not guaranteed anything.

I'm still watching and rooting on the outside chance of a miracle, but there's nothing to be excited about because the players aren't themselves! How do you get swept in a must-win situation? Even one win would've sufficed, but they bent over for Oakland as usual, leaving themselves all but dead. The only thing we have now is to hope for a sweep of Detroit, which is ridiculous to even think about right now. Only if that happens do we have the slightest prayer.

I am too. I watched the WS DVD this morning while I was reading the paper and you're right that the players aren't themselves. If they couldn't get it together for today with today definitely being a "must-win" then I don't know. And I hate it that even though after the lost today I said "it's over", I'm still hoping for a sweep of Detriot and a long winning streak. Therefore setting me up to be disappointed again if Detriot wins even one game.

We need a miracle, and I don't think that's going to happen. Boston came back from being 0-3 to win 4 in a row in the ALCS (and then 4 more) and what we'd have to pull off is comprarable, and even then we may not make it...but I'll be cheering like crazy on Tuesday and Sunday. If the Sox do something special, I'd love to be a part of it. I wasn't lucky to be in the park on their last 11-1 run, so here's hoping that I get to be lucky! And if not, well at least I won't spend as much money this offseason on Sox paraphanarlia.

I'll be there Mon-Tue-Wed for sure. Remember September 2005. (Not to mention October 2005!) This team CAN snap out of this. It won't be easy, but they still have my support, 100 percent. That doesn't mean it hasn't been frustrating as hell, but you can't really enjoy the good times if you cut and run when trouble comes. Another sweep of Detroit, and we'll see who folds under the pressure . . .

I understand the want for the Sox to win, but a lot of people are just looking at this mathematically rather than realistically. Of course the Sox aren't officially eliminated yet, but come on... they have no chance.

The glass is still half full.

It's the great American tale. It's the bottom of the ninth. It's Rocky on the ropes. It's the team that nobody believed in. It ain't over yet folks!

I wouldn't say it's the team that nobody believed in. I was convinced 100% that they were going to win the World Series in April, May, June and the early part of July too.
I believed in them completely and I know this team has all the talent in the world to win this thing, but obviously that's not enough. That's why the Yankees don't win every year.
They've lost everything they had in the first half. I don't know what happened or where it went, but it's gone.
People will keep saying "they'll turn it around" all the way up until they're eliminated, but I can't see it happening because it's against all logic.

the whining the moaning
the wringing of hands
the sound of the door
smacking asses of fans

they're running so hard
they're running away
the ones who were screaming
and jumping in May

The ones who believe
are all ridiculed
told that they simply
need to be schooled

That nothing could cause
the Sox to win out
That nothing is worthy
of even a shout

But me I will shout
Heck I'll even roar
I'll stand at the exit
and hold wide the door

Too all the deserters
who leave with feet draggin'
"GET THE **** OFF

Let's have a show of hands.

Should Batman buy a round when the Sox make the playoffs?

Answer: yes.

Here's how I'm approaching this:

1) I'm pulling for the Sox until they are mathematically eliminated. Their last realistic hope is to sweep Detroit and then hope to gain 2 more games over the last 10 games of the season.

2) Even if they get eliminated, the world will not come to an end and I will still pull for the Sox to play with pride up to the final game and win as many games as possible.

3) Even without a playoff berth, the Sox are still a great team to root for. Only 1 year removed from the WS title, still good for 90 or so wins even with all of this year's problems, and they promise to be in a position to be contention yet again next summer.

4) Eagerly await for pitchers and catchers to report to Tucson in mid-February.

That's how you keep your chin up.

I'll be there Monday and Friday, and maybe Sunday if there is any hope. I'm telling myself I'm going to soak in the experience of the the park a few last times until April. Sure, in the back of my mind I'm hoping for a miracle; but I'm not getting my hopes up - not with what I've seen this season.

If you look at the standings, it appears the Sox have their backs against the wall. If you go look at the schedule of remaining games for Detroit and Minnesota, you soon realize that the Sox have their backs firmly pressed against the wall, blindfolded, with a gun to their heads. The Twins play KC four times, Baltimore three times, and have a semi-tough three game series with Boston before playing the Sox. Detroit (the team we might have the best chance at catching) plays KC six times, Baltimore once, and Toronto three times after the Sox. The Sox have the toughest schedule of the three teams, with pesky Cleveland and Seattle sandwiched in between Minn and Det. If the Sox don't sweep Detroit, its over. Two out of three will not be enough since they'll only gain one game. Even after the Detroit sweep, they're asking the world of KC. I hope Buddy Bell's guys are ready to play.

LOL. :redneck

I agree that Detroit is our best chance, but who knows. I don't expect Minnesota to collapse; if they do, great. The Sox just need one of those teams to fall apart over the next two weeks. And they need to win the next 13 games. :redneck

They'll have to go 10-3 the rest of the way if they want to get in. I don't think they will pull it off, but I know they have a good shot at making the playoffs if the offense comes around. I think they'll have to go at least 5-1 against the Twins and Tigers. I'm going today, Wednesday, Saturday, and possibly Sunday.
