We've got two weeks. What are the magic numbers as of right now? The number to clinch Division or Wild Card. What are Minnesotas and Detroits?

And also, not to be a ****ing sissy or anything, but what is the Sox number to be eliminated from defending their Championship?

I believe Samram made an interesting post about this:

So, here's the new game of "what if":

If the Tigers go .500 for the last 14 games, they'll be 96-66. The Sox would have to go 12-2 to catch them.

If the Twins go .500 for the last 14 games, they'll be 94-68. The Sox would have to go 10-4 to catch them.

There is not one shred of evidence that suggests the Sox can go 10-4. At this point, there is only hope they'll do that, although my guess is the Sox will have to go at least 12-2 to get in even as the WC.

So, starting tomorrow, we pretty much can't lose anymore games.:bandance:

Our elimination number is 10 division and 12 wildcard

That means if w lose 5 games and tigers win 5 we can't win the division. or if Tigers win 7 and we lose 3 we can't win the divsion ect.

For wild card it is twelve so basically if we lose 6 games we are done if minnesota wins six.

As of right now to win the wild card we would have to go 14 and 0 to clinch a tie as minnesota would be 11-3 over their final 14 at best.

To win the divison we would have to go 14-0 and have Detroit lose more games.

For the first time this year, I now actually believe it may be over.:whiner:

The past two disastrous days have pretty much sealed the deal on this year's edition of our beloved White Sox. It's proof again that each and every baseball season is a beast in and of itself for every player and every team--you can't map out or bank the results like you can to a much larger degree in, say, football or basketball.

Perhaps you can't quite say that it's time to stick a fork in the 2006 White Sox--but the aroma of roasting Pale Hose is filling the house....

So, pretty much, we just have to win every game except 4 to win the wild card.

But, Minnesota isnt gonna go 500, so well probably have to go 12-2.

Sad, there were so many games we should have won and didn't. And really, does anyone expect the Sox to play much better than 500 from here on out? They've done nothing since the AS break to make me think they can.
