Maybe Ozzie needs to restore the order in order to restore order.

I wouldn't mind seeing a little switching in there for a game or so - just to see what happens.

I'd prefer Thome going back to Peoria for the winter.

Yes. Dye seemed to hit better behind those two. He's still hitting well obviously but the bulk of his production came from #5. I'd do it.

Dye is our best hitter, keep him there.

Me too. Everyone thought the offense would be "more dynamic" by moving JD up and dropping Thome and PK down. Our offense has blown lately. Why not go back to the formula that worked in the first half? Couldn't hurt.

Thome is not a number three hitter.

This has to be in teal, right?

He's not a prototype No. 3 because of his lack of speed. But he's certainly good enough to bat third, given that George Brett doesn't play for our team.

This subject has been beaten to death already.

Thome is more suited as a number four or five hitter. That's what he's been used most of his career. He strikes out too much and is too slow to be an ideal number three hitter. Yes, he has a good OBP but still his "swing for the fences" approach and lack of speed make him a better cleanup or five guy than a three hitter.

He's certainly good enough to bat third, but he's not an ideal number three guy. Dye is better suited for that role on this team.

Thome is an ideal cleanup or number five hitter when healthy.

On paper, yeah, Dye is better suited for the role. But would you not agree that our offense was working better earlier in the season with Thome batting third?

I know Dye homered today, but overall, he has struggled just as mightily on this trip as Thome has. I believe JD is 3-for-22 on the trip.
