I think the Sox will win 12 of their remaining games including 2 in each series against Minny and Detroit and we will win division with Minny the Wild Card.
How about you guys?

I think we're lookin at 8 or 9 wins.

Probably fall outside of the Wild Card by 3 games.

My prediction is that we will go through about 4 or 5 different stretches of "Woohoo! this team is starting to go on a roll!" and "Damnit! This team sucks!" before the end of the regular season. Which one we end on, I don't know.

I would say that unless 3 of those four stretches are of the former variety, it's not going to be good enough.

They'll probably end with 91-92 wins.

How many will it take to make the playoffs? One more than the guy in 3rd. :D:

I will pull some grey hairs out of my head by the end of the season, that is for sure. For all I know though, they could win every game.

I was going to say I predict I will be watching most of the remaining games.

I also predict we will win another game this season and lose another games this season.

They'll pass Minn and Detroit with only 12 wins? so that means that Minn and Detroit will have to lose 18 games in a row each? Maybe I missed the sarcasm, but my math skills can't be supressed.

Just because Det stumbled a bit, why does everyone assume they are not going to win the division? With Liriano out, it's absurd to think they won't, especially with so many games against KC down the stretch.

I think the Sox can finish 10-6 and still sneak into the WC.

The sox have to win the right games, obviously, the ones against the tigers and twins. If they can get 3 from Seattle minimum ,2of 3 against KC and two from Oakland- that will be 95. I say 94 or 95 will get them a tie at least. With tiebreak game in the Cell , I would take my chances.

I dont get where Liriano being down changes much. They have made up 5 or 6 games on the division since Liriano went down people. And if Garza (who will replace him again) pitches anything like he did today, he is going to be very tough.

I predict well get back to .5 games, then have a chance to take the lead, which we will blow, and we will enter the final weekend with 1 game seperating detroit with the sox and twins tied for 2nd and the WC

I predict I will do the same.

And pull what little hair I have out of my head.

And lay awake at night wanting to hurl when we have a chance to go ahead in a late inning with a guy on third with one out and not get him home the same night our competitors both win.

Then I'll look at my SOX flag the next morning and expect a win later that day/night!

Domeshot:

That's true but with three weeks to go their rotation looks like this now:

Santana
Silva
Garza
Bonser
Baker

The loss of Liriano does hurt Minnesota. It puts extra pressure on the three 'kids' in the rotation with little room for error. Now as Ozzie said in the postgame they may be able to make up for him with their bullpen and switching folks around.

All I know is everyone needs to stop rush rush rushing for a resolution. Quit saying it's over or it's been over because it's not nor has it been. Last night really sucked considering both our rivals won, but we came back today and dominated while getting the game back from Minnesota and Detroit. The fact is we won 2/3 in Anaheim and that's a pretty big success. If we do the same in Oakland it's a huge success. At minimum we can win just one in Oakland if we get some help from other teams. if we're 3 or 3.5 back come Monday when Detroit rolls in, we're in business.
