We're getting to mid-September, everyone is within 3 games of each other, and hell yes I am scoreboard watching. I have Gameday audio, Gamecast, and will have the TV working when the Sox come on (while doing my homework). Running away with the division is boring anyways.

9/12

A's and Twins are tied at 3 in the bottom of the 4th. Chavez went yard to give Oakland the lead, but the Twins tied it up as I typed by getting some 2 out magic going (all their runs with 2 outs so far tonight). Saarloos vs Guerrier

Texas and Detroit are in a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the 7th. I just checked this 5 minutes ago and it was 1-1, then again and it was 2-1 Texas, and now it's tied again. Michael Young and Carlos Guillen have gone deep so far. Kenny Rogers vs Vicente Padilla were the starters and are still in

HotelWhiteSox
09-12-2006, 08:26 PM
A's take the lead again in the next half inning. Dan Johnson HR. They keep trading blows, 4-3 A's in the 5th

Det/Tex still tied going to the 8th, Padilla gets out of a jam but gave up the tieing HR in the inning to Thames.

Nope, no national TV today.

Both starters are out for Texas/Detroit (8th)

Guerrier is out of the game for the Twins, and Neshek gets out of a huge bases loaded jam for him (5th)

Same scores.

We still control our own destiny. 3 game sets with Detroit, and a 3 game set with the Twinkies. If we can perform for those games, and win the series against Oakland, Seattle, and Cleveland (like we should), we will find ourselves in the playoffs. TW: What's the feeling in M-SP about bringing Liriano back this quickly?

The Twins have always been known to baby their starters. If there was the slightest problem with his rehab they were going to shut him down for the season. I think most of us here in the Cities didn't have a problem with them bringing Liriano back this year. You can never predict these things. It a shame this had to happen and I say that as a baseball not a Twins fan. I hate to see any young player get hurt like that.

I can't see this game, but Garza's repetoire is not diversified enough. When he can't throw his breaking ball for strikes, he has to rely on a steady diet of fastballs. Sure he may win a game here and there, but he can't offer the level of consistency most teams need from a starter.

I'm not saying he will never be ready, but I don't think he is ready at this point.

Because Gardenhire's a moron. He has to give Mauer a day game off. Hell or high water, day game = no Mauer. Even better, Redmond bats third when Mauer's on the bench. He's got a formula, and he just doesn't waiver from it unless injury or trade gives him no other choice. He is a fantastic motivator, and gets a lot out of his talent provided, but he's a moron.

The Great Gary Matthews Jr. has hit for the cycle in 4 at bats, making it 8-3 Texas. The crowd in Detroit didn't seem to notice anything happened.

Michael Young just hit a 2R HR making it 10-3. The runner on base? None other than Gary Matthews Jr. after drawing a walk in his fifth at bat.

Matthews Jr.: 4 for 4, BB, 2B, 3B, HR

and as I posted this, Carlos Lee hit a HR to make it 11-3

Is anyone else a bit annoyed that the announcer on ESPN doing the Detroit/Texas game, whoever he is, keeps breathing into the microphone??

Attention guy calling game, we can hear your nostrils through the microphone, please stop doing that. Thank you.

Although watching Texas whoop some ass, 11-3 now, makes up for it!

The great thing about this is that today was able to completely "undo" what happened last night!

Not completely. Two more games off the schedule. But I'll take today and a dozen more like it.
