B&B reminded me about this. Last year, didn't everything seem to come together when the team adopted Don't Stop Believin'?

It's gotta be something inspirational and motivational. Think of the Eye of the Tiger montage in Rocky.

What do you think? Here's a list of possible choices:

Kenny Loggins Danger Zone
The Police Can't Stand Losing (You)
Bon Jovi It's My Life :o:
Old Man River?

Or anything by Foghat. That's my band: Foghat.

Thinking about this a bit more, there's a british band from the 60s/70s called Led Zeppelin. "When The Levee Breaks" was one of their good songs, and it even mentions Chicago!

Or we could be Right Up To The Minute in song selection. How about "Crazy" by Gnarls Barfley?

Tom Petty---I wont back down

I like that choice a lot. Also got some others to ponder...

Van Halen- Right Now
Von Bondies- C'Mon C'Mon
Beatles- We Can Work It Out
Tom Petty- Running Down a Dream

We could always just stick with Don't Stop Believing because I bet many times this year people have given up and next morning wake up and say lets get this crap done.

But my personal fav for a new song this year is "Feels Like the First Time" by the Foreigners. Because we need some of that mojo from last year to come back.

Damn, I remember hearing the song and made a mental note to remember it since it was fitting for Cotts. Of course, I forgot it. It was something about losing it or blowing it or something like that. I was sort of surprised they played it.

Okay, I know it's Kansas, but isn't that actually kind of ironic when you think about it?

For my two cents...

I think this is something the actual team should decide, I mean, they are the ones who need to be inspired by it afterall. And to be honest, adopting "Don't Stop Believin'" was kinda a fluke, was it not? I think its difficult to purposely adopt another song if you want to have the same kind of meaning that Steve Perry did. These are the kinds of things you just need to let happen.

I think the song needs to be from a band that still tours without it original lead singer, to go along with last years song. With this in mind, I heard Grand Funk is touring without Mark Farner. Now if we can get Mark Farner to travel with the team and sing Loco Motion, the Sox will repeat!

Replace my old Metallica choice with "Seek and Destroy". To keep the momentum, from the last game going, the team should take cues from these lyrics.

There is no escape
And that's for sure
This is the end
We won't take anymore

Say goodbye to the world you live in
You've always been taking
And now you're giving

Running
On our way
Hiding
You will pay
Dying
One thousand deaths
(Repeat)

Searching, Seek and Destroy

This tune shows something I like to call killer instinct.

"Jump"

Jump!

I dont wanna wake up today
Cause everyday's the same
And I'd been waiting so long
For things to change
I'm sick of this town
Sick of my job
Sick of my friends 'cause everyone's jaded
Sick of this place, I wanna break free
I'm so frustrated, I just wanna

Jump! (Jump!)
Don't wanna think about tomorrow (Jump!)
I just don't care tonight
I just wanna jump (Jump!)
Don't wanna think about my sorrow
Let's go
Forget your problems
I just wanna jump

I don't wanna wake up one day
And find out it's too late
To do all the things I wanna do
So I'm gonna pack up my bags
I'm never coming back
'Cause the years are passing by
And I'm wasting all my ti-ti-time
Sick of this house
Sick of being broke
Sick of this town, that's bringing me down
I'm sick of this place, I wanna break free,
I'm so frustrated, I just wanna jump

Jump! (Jump!)
Don't wanna think about tomorrow (Jump!)
I just don't care tonight,
I just wanna jump (Jump!)
Don't wanna think about my sorrow
Let's go
Forget your problems
I just wanna jump
I just wanna jump

I can't take it anymore [x3]

Forget tomorrow, I just wanna jump (Jump!)
Don't wanna think about tomorrow (Jump!)
I just don't care tonight,
I just wanna jump (Jump!)
Don't wanna think about my sorrow
Let's go
Forget your problems
It's time to let them go
Forget tomorrow, I just wanna jump (Jump!)

"Jump"

Jump!

I dont wanna wake up today
Cause everyday's the same
And I'd been waiting so long
For things to change
I'm sick of this town
Sick of my job
Sick of my friends 'cause everyone's jaded
Sick of this place, I wanna break free
I'm so frustrated, I just wanna

Jump! (Jump!)
Don't wanna think about tomorrow (Jump!)
I just don't care tonight
I just wanna jump (Jump!)
Don't wanna think about my sorrow
Let's go
Forget your problems
I just wanna jump

I don't wanna wake up one day
And find out it's too late
To do all the things I wanna do
So I'm gonna pack up my bags
I'm never coming back
'Cause the years are passing by
And I'm wasting all my ti-ti-time
Sick of this house
Sick of being broke
Sick of this town, that's bringing me down
I'm sick of this place, I wanna break free,
I'm so frustrated, I just wanna jump

Jump! (Jump!)
Don't wanna think about tomorrow (Jump!)
I just don't care tonight,
I just wanna jump (Jump!)
Don't wanna think about my sorrow
Let's go
Forget your problems
I just wanna jump
I just wanna jump

I can't take it anymore [x3]

Forget tomorrow, I just wanna jump (Jump!)
Don't wanna think about tomorrow (Jump!)
I just don't care tonight,
I just wanna jump (Jump!)
Don't wanna think about my sorrow
Let's go
Forget your problems
It's time to let them go
Forget tomorrow, I just wanna jump (Jump!)

I just wanna jump

When it's time to party we will party hard :Rocker:

No.

no no no, how about "never let down?"

You're doing alright
You're doing ok
Just follow your heart
And don't run away

You can never let down

it's slower, but still loud enough that it will register on the richter scale. i wish there was some way i could make the lyrics for "i get wet" somehow apply to the sox. that song is a brain melter.

You guys are killing me because the real answer's so obvious.

From our buddy John Fogerty.

"Put me in coach..I'm ready to play...today......look at me....I can be...CENTERFIELD."

I really hope I'm wrong, but...

Black Crowes

Just come out and say it
Spit the words out of your mouth
It needs no explaining
cuz we both felt it go south

Just stop kickin my heart around
For the last time
Stop kickin my heart around

Well I told you so
Not its time to go
Got to get this show on the road
Just stop kickin my heart around

In the beginning
There was no wrong you could do
Now in this ending
I cant stand looking at you
