September 12, 1900 - The White Sox beat the Cleveland Blues 12 - 4 in Chicago to clinch the pennant. However the American League isn’t recognized as an ‘official’ major league at the time so according to MLB this 'pennant' isn't considered legitimate. The Sox did finish the season at 82-53.
