Anyone notice this? I wonder why he got rid of it from last year, when he was so successful...

I will take that 1-2-3 9th inning, though.

Welcome back, Hermie!!!! :gulp:

Seriously? What does the rule state? No beards but mustaches are allowed? Do the rest of the Sox' farm teams have the same rule???

Hermie looked great. I forgot how quickly and efficiently he seemed to get outs. He lets hitters put the ball into play and make outs.

The big question. How much can he be used this month? I'm assuming he can't go back-to-back days? Hawk almost made it sound like he was 100%, but I understood that he still has pain.

I don't know what the rule is exactly but I read in one of this morning's papers that Hermanson shaved his goatee because of Charlotte's rule.

I was so happy to see him back. And that was before the 1-2-3 9th, then I was thrilled.

1 - 2 - 3 in the 9th. Great to see him back and here's hoping he's not in pain.

I think that's the first thing everyone noticed. Fortunately, we're talking about his new look and not how awful his performance was.

It won't take long for the goatee to grow in.Ozzie looked clean cut
a few days ago,but his grew in nicely as of 9/6/06.

An article on the Sox website mentions that the Charlotte club has a "no facial hair" policy.

Doesn't say anything about tarp sliding.

My wife even picked up that tidbit of info when we watched him in the bullpen. Hey, if it keeps him healthy, shave the spirit patch, his head, whatever!
Welcome back Dustin!

Did Hawk realy saw that Dustin "Essentially had a floating Spine"? If that is the case can any doctors explain how he can still move? Or how they got the spine to "stop floating"?

Hermie looked awesome last night. ALL low strikes with good movement on the slider and sinker. All of his mistakes caused by his back last year were up in the zone. I hope he can contribute beyond an inning here and there, because we need him..

He is a welcome addition, end of the season or not. Welcome back, Hermie! :gulp:

I was really happy for Dustin Hermanson last night. I thought his season and career were probably done for before yesterday, and I was just happy to see he battled back and got healthy enought to play. That was a great way to end a terrible road stretch. Glad to have u back Dustin

He looks a lot nicer without the goatee.

IIRC, he explained once that the design is supposed to be a cross, not a peace sign.

He also wears a large cross around his neck in the world series DVD interviews.

He got them out, but I don't think he threw a pitch over 80 MPH.

1-2-3 inning aside, I think Boston just wanted to end it.
