16-9 is my guess as well. Don't know if it will be enough....

If they got 15-10 or 14-11 at this point, I still think they're in.

12-13. 91 wins.

I do think 94 wins gets in if we beat the Twins twice. 95 gets in if we beat them once. But I don't think we'll get to 93 before getting to Minnesota. The Sox would have to go 14-8. I don't think they have horses this year.

0-25 Finish in 4th.

Cubs will come back and win the wildcard and then the World Series. After the week long parade the land that Comiskey sits on will be given to Gary, In and the Sox will forever be known as the Gary White Sox.

I hate to be a realist but this team is toast.

I hope I am wrong.

12 - 13.

This team is totally lost...either the pitching or the hitting shows up, but rarely both. This is not the same team that played ball the 1st half of the year.

This is a pointless exercise because they're not going to do this, but here is what the Sox will have to do before they get to Minnesota:

To not have to win a game in Minnesota to win the wildcard, they'll have to go 16-5 the next 21

To have to win 1 of 3 in Minnesota, 15-6

To have to win 2 of 3, 14-7

To have to sweep 3, 13-8

To have to sweep 4, 12-9

12-13. That counts yesterday's loss to Boston, and probably today's. So, 0-2. They'll split with the Indians, losing to Sabathia and whatever rookie Cleveland is using these days, so that's 2-4. They'll lose 2-3 to Anaheim and Oakland , which makes it 4-8. They'll sweep the Tigers, since they act like that's the only team they're chasing, which moves it to 7-8. Then they'll split with Seattle, 9-10. They'll win 2 of 3 vs. Cleveland, and one of 3 vs. the Twins. 12-13. :dunno: Hope I'm wrong. If not though, I will be posting on here immediately telling everyone how smart I am and say I told you so!!!!!!!!

I predict a three-way tie for first in the AL Central.

I'm just not sure how they would sort it out between Detroit, Minnesota, and Cleveland to figure who wins what...

not a bad predicition unless they start to pull their heads out of their ass and realize there is less then a month of baseball left which decides if they start vacationing early or go on to kick some serious ass

Now they have 24 left.

They'll need to go 16-8, with 2 wins against the Twins.

So 19-5 (If they wake up and start playing like the team that they are supposed to be.

Honestly they *need* to finish the last 24 games now with as much gusto as they played with in last years playoffs. Can they do it? Will they do it? Do they want to do it? Honestly, I don't know. What I do know is that the only way to hold control over their own fate; which right now they do not is to go 19-5 over their last 24 games. Yeah, I know that's a .791 winning percentage.

With the schedule that the Twins have over the next 3 weeks, I'd be surprised to see them to have more than 95 wins.

I mean the Twins schedule looks like this:

Tampa Bay (1) 1-0
Detroit (4) 2-2
Oakland (3) 1-2
at Cleveland (4) 3-1
at Boston (3) 2-1
at Baltimore (3) 2-1
Kansas City (4) 3-1
Chicago (3) 1-2

So I think they will finish out 15-10. That means at worst we have to go 17-7 to make the playoffs unless Detroit falls off the map which they wont.

I might be dreaming, or I didn't forget what this team IS capable of. They showed me something last year and I just don't wanna believe that they can't get on another run right now and pull this off.

We started the season 17-7. It's only fitting we should end it that way.
