DC's Ramon Ortiz has not given up a hit to the Cardinals in Washington. Bottom of the 8th right now. Three outs to go.

Ortiz just homered to help his own cause in the Bot of the 8th. He's having himself quite a day. 3-0 Nats.

Wow just saw this on mlb.com. When's the last time a guy's gone into the 9th with one?

He's faced 27 over eight IP's; the extra three were all walks.

In the 9th, Ortiz will face Aaron Miles (who batted 3rd once for the Sox in 2003- I believe it was a Jerry Manual special on the last day of the season and the last day of his managerial reign), Duncan, and the ever-dangerous Pujols.

What's the guy's pitch count?

The Seattle radio goes just wondered about the last time a pitcher hit a home run while pitching a no-hitter. Rick Wise hit two home runs in his no-hitter. Ortiz won't do that.

Because people are talking about his no-hitter, he is jinxed and won't get that either, I suppose.

Awww crap. He didn't do it.

I blame myself. I just got home, saw he had a no-hitter going and flipped it on. The first batter I saw him face singled. :(:

Nice job, Wilkes. Base hit to Miles! Jinxed it! :D:

The biggest scrubs always end up breaking these things up. Pujols would never break up a no-hitter, it would have to be Miles or Duncan.

Well, the next batter just lined to Nick Johnson who stepped on 1B to double-up Miles.

Pujols just went upper tank to ruin the shut out... Frank Robinson out to get Ortiz.

Damnit! I really wanted to hear it.

Wilkes: The walking jinx.

...and Pujols just launched one into Frank Howard territory.

That's a shame. He doesn't get the no-hitter, shut-out, or complete game now. Hopefully he can get a W.

BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANG ZOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM go the fireworks.

Brutal announcers.

This was one of the better games he's pitched in years. The announcers said his FB had more life than usual.

Not bad for a guy who was cut in ST.
