Leyland really trying to squeeze an extra inning out of Verlander tonight...126 pitches over 7 innings, according to GameDay. Game still scoreless. Let's hope the Halos pull it out and Verlander has a sore elbow tomorrow.

Vladimir Guerrero is the West Coast Dye. He's a money player.

What the hell was Scioscia doing not putting in K-Rod with the bases loaded in the 8th and 2 outs against Thames? That's the second time I've seen Shields give up a lead when they could have gone to Rodriguez in the 9th.

Hopefully they'll push across another run. The Angels desperately need this game or they're done.

Shields blew one against us last year. Remember the Memorial Day game when Frank came back from the DL? It was Timo time in the bottom of the ninth...

caulfield12

Garrett Anderson is simply not the same player he used to be. Reminds me of Hunter defensively, except Torii can still hit a first-pitch fastball.

Shields has been more hittable this season than in years past. Just as long as the Angels find a way to win, all is forgiven.

Shields is more hittable this season than in years past because he's on my fantasy team. Maybe I should drop him. Of course, I dropped Freddy Garcia, and it hasn't made much of difference....

JB98
09-02-2006, 09:08 PM
Wasn't that against K-Rod? I know we've beaten him at least once in his career...

No, K-Rod was on the DL at the time. I was at the game where this happened, so I remember it very clearly. It was second-and-third with one out in the ninth. Hot Carl pinch hit for Iguchi for some reason, and Shields struck him out. That brought up Timo, who was in the game in the three spot because Frank aggravated his injury and left early. Perez dumped a two-run single in front of Anderson and won the game.

Timo had a bases-clearing double to beat K-Rod in 2004. That might be what you're thinking of...

A. Cavatica

Neifi Perez already paying dividends for the Sox as he makes the error and hasn't hit worth ----.

At last, Wilkes. Thanks. I was wondering why this turd was even allowed to sit in the bowl without being flushed.

I actually really enjoy the ESPN radio team. It's Soup Cambell and Dan Schuman (sp?). I think Schuman's an east coast guy, but if he's biased in that sense, it doesn't show through. They are the tops, indeed. Shulman has done Blue Jay games for a long time, and I believe he is Canadian.
