Curt Schilling has just recorded his 3,000th career strikeout, striking out Nick Swisher with a 3-2 count in the first inning in Oakland. I think he may have just locked up his chances for the Hall of Fame.

Your'e kidding right? He only has 200 wins.

He's got two more wins than Kenny Rogers does. Don't think he's going to the hall, unless he's around a few more years.

Yeah, true, but you have to take into account the time period he's pitching in, the 5 man rotation. Plus 3,000 strikeouts is a VERY exclusive club. He may not get in first ballot, but I do believe he'll get in, since he'll have the east coast writers helping him out a ton.

Cy Young didn't even get 3,000 Ks.

The 300 win pitcher is not the sort of thing that happens much anymore. I'm going to say 3,000 strikeouts and some incredibly clutch performances in the postseason is going to be enough to get him in.

But on the bright side- Schilling and the red sox lost again. Schill gives up 6 earned in 5.1 innings.

We face him on Monday- hope he stays in that groove.
