Right now, in the top of the sixth inning, the Royals lead the Twins 2-0. Here's hoping that the bullpen doesn't have to be used very much and that Redman can continue to baffle Twins hitters.

Go Royals!

Holy moly! Redman just threw a complete game shutout at the Baggie Dome!

Those two runs that the Royals scored in the fifth inning have held up and made the difference tonight!

Your final:

Kansas City 2
Minnesota 0

Outstanding outing from Matt Garza. Just think about next year when (if?) everyone is healthy...

Santana
Liriano
Garza
Radke?
Scott Baker?

Even just having those three at the top of your rotation makes it better than most out there.

Then the bullpen of Neshek, Reyes, Roidcon, Crain, Guerrier and Nathan...
These guys are going to be piranhas for a loooong time.

Hey Buehrle4cy05, I love seeing your posts and your comments but I seriously can't stand looking at that picture of Thome and Timo anymore. That has to be the ugliest thing I've ever seen in my life! LOL!

Radke is retiring after the season so you can scratch his name off the list. But I agree they could be very good if Garza is all that he's supposed to be and Liriano comes back healthy.

And THANK YOU Triple A Royals for once not rolling over and dying against everyone other then the Sox.

Garza got hit hard when the Royals just went up there looking first pitch fastball.

Garza has decent offspeed stuff, but not much confidence in it, especially down in the count.

He also has a very flat FB, sure, it's 94-95, but we know how well that's worked for Josh Beckett this year.

He beat a flat Baltimore team. Tonight he was good, first two times, not so good. But the big test will be this Sunday in Yankee Stadium. We'll find out if Garza is a pretender or contender.

Baker is horrible, or has been so far. Their best prospect (for a long time) was JD Durbin but he's regressed somewhat.

They also have Bonser, but I would expect them to sign a veteran ala Kenny Rogers in 2003 to provide some leadership to replace Radke.

That's why we need to repeat. Then, screw 2007. We got ours.

IIRC, Redman beat the White Sox earlier in the year. If he didn't get the win, he did drive the team crazy.

Attn: KC Royals

Please burn up all your good pitching performances pummeling the Twins. And shutting down Mauer, Morneau, Hunter and Kubel (DH), a combined 0-11, does qualify as a good pitching performance.

Please schedule the pitching machine for two games this weekend.

I honestly think that KC sweeps tomorrow. The Saturday game took everything that the Twins had in the tank.

We had a plan against Santana, and hit a few balls hard. We tagged Nathan's ass. The Twins needed to muster everything they could to get an 11 inning win in that game, and have since dropped 3 straight.

Maybe they're not a .730+ caliber team, after all.

All of a sudden, the pressure's back on them, and THEY'RE the ones that desperately need 3 of the next 4.

Look at the 3 teams in this race tonight. All 3 were down, 2 came back, and the Twins were the odd team out. I think this speaks volumes when you consider that the Twins were at home against the lowly Royals and the Tigers were IN YANKEE STADIUM.

It sure looked to me that 2 teams asserted themselves, and the other team was exposed as the smoke and mirrors that they are.

I am already sweating the sox vs Redmon on sunday in KC. He is a soft tossing lefty that just kill us.

Thanks, royals, now go get Santana.

The royals play the tigers 6 times in the last 9 days of the season - they are chortling over that prospect cuz the tigers have won like 12 in a row but I think they might be in for a surprise- these royals playing much better ball than early. Sox better get tough and win 2 of 3 this weekend.

Uh oh...De La Rosa is imploding, giving up a single and 2 straight walks to load the bases for Hunter with no outs in the 6th...

edit: Peralta gets a DP but the Twins score 1...man on 3rd with 2 outs, Twins up 2-1.

Even if the royals go on to lose which it looks like will be the case down 2 going into the 9th, what an amazing series for them to go up to the dome and win two. I wish we could do that!!

Thanks for your help KC. We plan to reward you by treating you to a clinic this weekend at your place.

The Royals won two out of three so i am happy. I was hoping the would win one, two was a treat. Three would of been great but i will take 2.

I really thought that KC would do it today, but Santana was the stopper yet again. He has to be the favorite for the Cy Young now.

He might have saved their season. If they can rebound and take 2 from the Yankees, the bad week that we were all hoping for levels out at 3-3.

Look. It's going to come down to the last week. As bad as the Twins played against the Royals, they only lost one game in the standings.

Nobody is going to run away with this. Despite how much you or I want it. It's going to end up with 3 teams in our division with 95+ wins, and I wouldn't be surprised if there's a single play-in game to break the tie and determine the wildcard winner...

And that's truly awesome.
