When are pitchers put in the batting lineup.. like under what circumstances? During the world series games some hit [unless im mistaken] or like when garland was put in the lineup and hit the 1st homerun by a pitcher in 35 years or whatever.

if this is a serious question, it is when an NL team is the home team

When the teams play between leauges, you go by the home team's rules. So... yeah... when the NL is the home team the pitchers have to bat.

also, in AL parks, if the DH is brought in defensively, there is no more DH and the pitcher must bat.

Back in the 1950' Paul Richards tried the ploy becuase he wanted a lefty vs righty situation with out using three pitchers for three batters.
