likely t-storm pops decreasing chance since 4AM update. here's the 7AM NOAA forecast discussion:

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DETROIT/PONTIAC MI
704 AM EDT THU AUG 24 2006

.AVIATION...

THE LATEST TRENDS IN AREA RADAR DATA SHOW A WEAKENING TO THE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE SOUTHERN LAKES REGION. THIS TREND WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE REMAINDER OF THE MORNING AS THE FORCING FOR THIS CONVECTION WANES. SOME DRIER MID LEVEL AIR AND WEAK SUBSIDENCE THIS AFTERNOON SHOULD HINDER ADDITIONAL CONVECTIVE DEVELOPMENT ALONG A SURFACE FRONT THAT WILL EXTEND NEAR THE STATE LINE. LOW PRESSURE WILL MOVE INTO MINNESOTA TONIGHT. THIS WILL ALLOW THE FRONT TO LIFT NORTH ACROSS THE SOUTHERN LAKES REGION AS A WARM FRONT. SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL LIKELY REDEVELOP ALONG THIS FRONT. PER THE 00Z
MODEL GUIDANCE...FNT AND MBS STAND THE BETTER CHANCES AT SEEING
SHOWERS AND POSSIBLY A THUNDERSTORM AFTER 04Z TONIGHT.

OUTSIDE OF A FEW LOCALIZED AREAS WITH MVFR VISIBILITY AND CEILINGS
THIS MORNING...CLOUD BASES ARE EXPECTED TO RANGE FROM 3500 TO 6K
FEET THROUGHOUT THE DAY. AS PRECIP REDEVELOPS ALONG AND NORTH OF THE FRONT TONIGHT...CLOUD BASES WILL BEGIN TO LOWER. LOW TO MID 60 DEWPOINTS ALONG AND SOUTH OF THE FRONT WILL ALSO LEAD TO SOME MVFR AND IFR VISIBILITY IN FOG OVERNIGHT.

anyone know the status of the rain delay?
It continues.
They just checked in with The Hawk on CSN, he says the tarp is still on the field.

anyone know the status of the rain delay? From the Doppler radar it looks like a small storm system. Shouldn't be more than an hour.

Thanks for the updates, those of you who are able to get them from the sources (Hawk/DJ). I can only hope the delay lasts long enough so I can catch the end of the game at home.

WSCR said, before they replayed the Ozzie-Mike North interview (currently), that the tarp was off... so very soon!
