Look for Ozuna and Cintron to start tomorrow.

Not sure about AJ/Alomar...and after tonight's homer, I wouldn't mind seeing Mackowiak get another chance in the line-up, although I'm okay one way or the other because I don't know how long the luck can hold out with Mackowiak in CF in the TwinkieDoom.

Neither Anderson NOR AJ have a hit against Johan.

I would like this lineup

1. Ozuna LF
2. Iguchi 2B
3. Thome DH
4. Konerko 1B
5. Dye RF
6. Pierzynski C
7.Crede 3B
8. Cintron SS
9. Mackowiak CF

now all you ba fans calm down were just resting our secret weapon up for Detroit.

The Sox offense is deathly allergic to changeups thrown down and away. It seems like 7 out of every ten strikeouts we have is due to that pitch.

IMO, it doesn't really matter who we throw out there. Santana has one of the best changeups out there and is going to shut us down as usual.

Santana doesn't walk our guys and he rarely gives up consecutive hits, so I'm guessing we rely on the longball again tomorrow (and hopefully more shotty defense from the Twins). If Javy and the bullpen can hold these guys to around two runs or less I like our chances of getting a couple home runs and winning this one.

BTW, I'm guessing Pablo and Cintron's success against Johan has something to do with them being aggressive hitters and going after the first pitch rather often. I like that approach against Johan and I hope others follow it, as long as the AB starts out with a fastball.

Almost positive Anderson got a bloop single against Johan last year.

Gload? Mack at 3B? :?::o: That lineup SUCKS. Why do you want to take out 2 of our 4 best hitters?

I would rather work the count and get Santana out of the game faster. I will take my chances with the likes of Roidcon. The huge majority of the time, you aren't going to take it to Santana. The best plan is to outlast him and get to the bullpen.

Teal police anyone??

Santana has been pitching with some blister issues lately and as a result, has been beatable. Just put the best lineup possible out there. If that means all lefties as Hawk clammers for, then so be it. Just win the damn game.

Has Ozuna actually gotten a hit in the last month on the first pitch?

My only recollection is the fake bunt and usually a 0-1 or 0-2 count before he slaps a ball the opposite way, with the exception of the big hit against KC recently.

Lefties have a better chance against Johan. I would like to see Gload get a shot somewhere meaning Dye would have to sit. Why not? Try something new since nothing else works.

the Score reported Friday that Ozuna would start in left for Pods but beyond that it would likely be the regular lineup

9. Mackowiak CF

now all you ba fans calm down were just resting our secret weapon up for Detroit.BA doesn't need rest. He's only 22 so he can play everyday with no issues. I have no problem with Mackowiak in the lineup so long as he isn't in Centerfield. Have you seen how many times he has made a costly error there? I'm especially worried with that damn white roof.

...after yesterday's game Ozzie said Alomar will start behind the plate against Santana.

Nikola needs rest and relaxation, and as far as I am concerned he can do that the rest of the year back home in Tuscon.

I'm fine with that, AJ has really had his struggles against Santana. Other than that I don't thinkt there will be anything too crazy--I bet Ozuna for Pods and that's it.

Do we now have a Russian player?

Cintron's average is much better against Santana, I think he might get the nod over Uribe.

Santana and Ozuna will be the other two...not sure about CF.

Essentially the Sox are going to have to pitch a shutout to win this game. That means that we cannot afford even one fielding screwup. Mack was lucky that no tough balls were hit to him yesterday. We don't need to press our luck.

I would prefer Brian because of his defense, but he's had 5 K's in 10 at-bats so I don't expect much. Maybe a blooper or bleeder somewhere off his hands that falls in somehow like Pods' single last night or Morneau's the night before.

That's the old, struggling Anderson, not the one who is currently cementing his hold on CF for years to come.

PK has had more at-bats than any other Sox player vs Santana and is hitting .128 against him. Having Gload start at 1B wouldn't be the stupidest thing Ozzie ever did. Konerko can always come in later.

I don't agree with Mack at 3B though. Crede's defense alone dictates he starts.

Call me crazy, but I have a good feeling about this game. This is coming from a certified Dark Cloud. A win here would be a big downer for MN, too early for a coffin nail, but a big one nonetheless. We're pretty big underdogs in the betting line, as we should be with JS pitching. Last night's game was a confidence boost for us, just what the doc ordered.

There's the two big things tonight... the lineup or order of pitchers doesn't matter.

Mack in LF and Ozuna at 3B.

How did Ozzie's RH lineup do today against Santana?

How does it always do???

Anderson's middle name is Nikola, sounds exactly how he plays...terrible.
