That Frank Thomas was the one who blasted Dick Allen on the shoulder with his bat in Philly I think in 1964 during a fight around the batting cage. Allen was NL ROY but his arm was never the same afterwards.

Nice recall, Lip. In his autobiography, Allen describes the fight and how it led to the Phillies eventually getting rid of Thomas. Allen cites this as the beginning of his unpopularity with Philly fans, and an event that began to craft his reputation as a clubhouse cancer.
