I accessed "My White Sox Account" on whitesox.com/ticketmaster this morning and saw the following message:

"2006 Postseason Invoices Available NOW!!!
Urgent News Regarding Your 2006 Postseason Invoices: All refunds from unplayed Postseason games will be applied as a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit toward your 2007 season tickets. Click View/Pay Open Invoices and Select Your Postseason Invoice for more details or refer to the paper invoice you received from the White Sox."

However, said invoice was not available upon clicking the link.

Has anyone seen this message and/or viewed the invoice?

I suppose I could just wait until the paper invoice arrives via snail mail.

So pretty much they're making it difficult not to renew season tickets next year unless you want to take a nice loss. This is assuming of course the White Sox don't play all their home games in the playoffs.

Hell i'm moving to Indianapolis next year but I'm going to renew my tix for sure even though I'll probably only be able to get to about 20 games

They're just trying to get as many people as possible to roll the money over. Last year it was optional, but if you didn't roll the money over you had to put up 10% for 2006 instead.

Agreed. I was just saying that could be one scenario. I wonder if you try to drop down your plan if they'll put you in the back of the queue of all Ozzie plan holders.

Next year I'm getting my season ticket as well as a couple of 27 game plans... when I talked to my rep in April about the 27 game plans he added me next in the queue... not preferential treatment but not discriminatory either... I didn't tell him I was going to renew my full season plan when I mentioned the 27 game plan thing..

Also I think the Ozzie plan is first come first served really... you pick the games etc.. not really a queue per se

At first I thought parking was a rip off, but it turns out to be only $25/game.
Actually, the ticket prices are still fairly reasonable all the way thru the postseason, beginning with my UD $40 ALDS tix and ending at UD $150 WS tix.

Unfortunately I don't know how that breaks down pricewise per game? Thinking like $200 for the LD WS tix? after that I'm stumped.. Also... Why didn't it include the option to pay this from my ticketExchange account? I think it automatically billed my credit card w/o looking into my ticketExchange account?

If you absolutely MUST take your personal vehicle all the way down to the south side to park, there are still a million and one ways to get around gthe $25 parking fee. I'm not going to enumerate them all right here, but just allow yourself 25 extra minutes and you'll be fine. Do the math, thats a dollar a minute.

my brother parks in Chinatown at the most 8 bucks and then takes the train. he saves himself at least 5 bucks a game after you factor in train.

I received my letter today. You have an option either to apply any postseason refund toward 2007 tickets or have it refunded and give up your seats.

People have less than 2 weeks to make the decision. :o:

Ticket prices for 2007 (per seat):

Club Premium $3,362
Premium Lower Box $3,281
Club Regular $3,119
Lower Box $2,633
Lower Deck Reserved $2,309
Bleachers $2,147
Premium Upper Deck $1,661
Upper Deck Box $1,499
Upper Reserved $1,175

My Upper Deck seats have increased by 17.48%.

I was thinking that my seats next year would be at least $1020. This is the value of the post season tickets and heaven forbid the Sox don't make it, the money would go toward 2007 season tickets. If the seat cost less than $1020, what would they do with the extra money? Roll it over for 2008 tickets?

It will be slightly more than a third. This season's split plans are roughly 35-37% the cost of Full, depending on the plan and seat location. I imagine the numbers will be similar this year.

Assuming the same percentage as this season, a Hit and Run in the Lower Box will run you $921 next year.

When you pay your invoice online, it mentions that the full amount will be shown on screen but any funds in your TicketExchange balance will be automatically applied to your payment. I paid the invoice and had a temporary authorization on my credit card for the full amount of the tickets (in other words, TicketExchange funds had not been applied). I figured that since it was only temporary, the actual amount they would charge would reflect the savings from TicketExchange funds.

I just checked my credit card account online and my latest statement has the full ticket charge on the bill. In other words, it is no longer temporary and the Sox didn't apply my TicketExchange funds. So what happens now? Has anyone else ran into this situation?

From what I understand, you didn't have to do anything(at all), if you're tix exchange balance was enough to cover the entire balance. Since you entered your credit card info, that superceded the tix ex balance, so I'd think you would need to get your rep to straighten this out.
Good luck.

Good luck.

I just looked at the invoice and they have added some text that I do not recall seeing in screen when I paid my invoice. Here is what was there originally:

Whitesox.com TicketExchange credits (through 08/10/2006) are AUTOMATICALLY being applied toward your 2006 Postseason tickets; this credit amount WILL NOT be displayed on-line during the invoice payment process, nor will it be deducted from the total amount listed as due.

Now, a second paragraph is displayed:

If you have an TicketExchange credit, refer to the paper invoice you received from the White Sox to see the amount of the credit being applied toward your Postseason invoice and only pay the amount noted as "Total balance due (or credit toward 2007 Season Tickets)" during the on-line payment process.

It would have been helpful if that second paragraph was up there when I paid my invoice. It appears as if this "automatic" feature isn't functioning.

Time to contact my rep.

*sigh*

EDIT: I just got off the phone with my rep. Apparently, the phrase "automatically" doesn't mean what I though it did. "Automatically" means that when you enter the paper invoice value on-screen, the remaining balance will "automatically" be paid from Ticket Exchange credits. I took it to mean that even if you put in the full amount, your credit card will only be billed for that amount minus Exchange credits. Oh well. He saw how someone might interpret the wording the way I did and agreed that it could have been worded better. I just wonder why that second paragraph wasn't up there from the get go...

He said he could credit my credit card but since the value will carry over to next season anyway, I'll just apply it toward next year's season tickets. The whole "glitch" is a result of Ticketmaster not being able to recognize the Ticket Exchange balance and simply generate an online invoice with the credits applied. This seems odd since Ticketmaster runs the whole thing but who knows...
