I'm trying to figure out if tonight's game has been soldout for at least two days. The reason being, my buddy's MLB package through DirecTV will pick up the WCIU game if it is.

Anyone know, or how I can find out? Thanks in advance!

I think it's been sold out for a month now.

I'm sure it is, or will be. Friday night against the division leaders? I would be surprised if it wasnt.

It is also Elvis Night, a very popular promotion. This one hasn't been available for a while now.

I think it is...

Anyone know if the MLB package has picked up other sellout games that were on WCIU this year?

At the end of this series we will have 19 sellouts in a row, I believe. Elvis Night is certainly a part of that, and was likely the first of the 19 to be sold out.

According to Hawk, the rest of the weekend is already sold out.

What really pisses me off is my buddy (with the MLB package on DirecTV) called DirecTV to see if he would get the game since it's a sellout and they said it's not even televised, nor is it listed as a game to watch on DirecTV. Man did MLB screw this one up!

*** is WCIU any way???

 x 100!

It's the channel that the White Sox share with "The Munsters" and "Becker"

Yep.

And from what I understand from my rep, the rest of the season will likely sell out as well, based on the numbers that they are seeing right now.

So if that's true, we will finish the season having sold out the last 40 games!:o:

Are you sure that the streak is only 19 though? Because 19 cuts off at the Houston series. And prior to that was the St. Louis series, where I know all 3 games were sold out. Did we not completly sell out the Houston series or something?? Placed looked pretty packed to me.

That Thursday Baltimore game in July wasn't a sellout.

This entire week has been a sellout. Something like 35th total, 16th consecutive was last night.

If we sell out the rest of the season, would we hit 3 million?

Hopefully this translates to payroll in 2007. Who knows what KW could do with an extra 15mm or so? (I'd start by resigning Crede and Dye to extensions)

It is going to be close. Sox are on pace for 2.934 million as of today. They need to average just a touch under 39k a game from here on out to reach it.

And of all the games that are on Extra Innings tonight, the Sox-Tiggers game is conveniently left off...go figure.

A rare, independently-owned local TV station that has not been sucked into the clutches of corporate networks. If you lived in Chicago you could watch it over-the-air.

http://www.wciu.com/main.asp

Those of us who refuse to pay for overpriced cable and the garbage that is ESPN appreciate every over-the-air game that the White Sox organization throws our way. The Cubune company is going to take care of their own, so we need alternates to WGN.
