There is still some time to vote in the "Best Met Ever" poll, but Tom Seaver is way out in front with 3 of every 4 voters casting a vote for him.

Today, the Montreal Expos/Washington Nationals are at bat.

I'm casting my vote for Andre Dawson, who just edges out Tim Raines.

Gotta go with Raines. Dawson a close second, with Gary Carter & Andres Galarraga getting honorable mention.

How did Andre Dawson not make the list? MLB must be gearing the vote
towards 15 year olds.

I miss the Expos so much. I would go up there every year to see some National League ball ( only 5 hours away ) Anyone who says Montreal wasn't a good baseball town was never there during an Expos rally and the crowd was singing The Happy Wanderer.

The Expos did have fans but the 94 strike and then Selig and Loria just sucked the life out of that franchise.

More Les Expos than Nasty Nats.

I'd have to go with Andre Dawson to. Both he and Rock should be on here.

Good picthers down come to mind with them. The had some with big moments, but not too many dominated.

Brian Schneider and Livan Hernandez??????!!!

Obviously they should have separated the Nats from The Expos. The name that's missing from everyone's add-ons is Steve Rogers. He was a rock solid starting pitcher and staff ace in the mid to late 70's and early 80's and was an All-Star a few times.

Sheeesh...even Warren Cromartie and Ellis Valentine were better than Brian Schneider.

What, no John Boccabella?

Dawson, Raines, Carter.

As an aside, the solid blue caps the Expos wore at the end of their existence were damn sweet. I got me one of them.

I can't believe how bad of a job MLB did in choosing these candidates.

My choice is Andre Dawson.

But they also left off Raines, Vlad, Larry Walker, Pedro, Tim Wallach, Steve Rogers, "The Bearded One" Jeff Reardon, Andres Galarraga, Dennis Martinez, and Jerry Manuel.

God I miss me some Expos baseball. **** you Bud for allowing it to be killed. Vive Les Expos!

Moving to Stade Olympique was the start of their downfall. It was an awful place to watch a game but the Expos were forced to go there.

I agree - I hate dome stadiums but I never had a bad trip to Montreal to take in an Expos game - my third favorite team (well at least until they closed shop).

Whoever came up with these players should be shot.

Tim Raines, Andre Dawson and Guerrero left off? Steve Rogers, Pedro & Dennis Martinez left off the ballot?

Brian Schneider, Jose Vidro and Livan Hernandez? The worst list to date (and that is saying something).

My choice was Tim Raines.

No Tim Raines? I refuse to vote for this one.

Look at some of his on-base, power and stolen base numbers (http://www.baseball-reference.com/r/raineti01.shtml) in the 80s. He was a hell of a player. Too bad Henderson was around at the same time to steal his thunder...and yes, playing in Mon-we-al never helps.

I'm casting my vote for Andre Dawson, who just edges out Tim Raines.

How dare you remind anyone that Andre Dawson was anything other than a Chicago Cubs all-star.

Seriously, Dawson was one of the Expos' best players, but Tim Raines, Rusty Staub or Gary Carter would rank ahead of him.

I'd vote for Carter, the Hall of Famer who rightfully went into the Hall as an Expo, rather than as a Met.

I'll vote in Vlad as a write-in. He was the only reason Expos games were worth watching towards the end. I remember him hitting a MONSTER home run off of Mike Hampton a few years back that hit off of the facing of the left field upper deck in Montreal. IIRC, they measured the home run at 501 feet!:o:

Steve Rogers was a very good pitcher on some mediocre teams. That being said, I'd have to give the edge to Dawson over Raines.
