The polls remain open until Wednesday morning in the "Best Mariner Ever" poll with Ken Griffey Jr. way out in front.

Because I am travelling on the road into Indiana early Wednesday morning (still can't decide between I-80 to I-80/94 or I-294 to I-80/94), I am posting the Florida Marlins poll late Tuesday evening. Since most of these candidates did things with other clubs in addition to the Marlins, please tailor your vote to what these individuals did as a Fighting Fish.

Charles Johnson.

Conine. That's why they call him "Mr. Marlin."

This one was pretty awesome, with back-to-back Daytonas

But THIS one would have won the Cup in 2001 using the current scoring system and SHOULD have won the Cup in 2002 had not his teammate busted his neck at Richmond.

I agree with Conine, but in a few years it will be Cabrera.

Heck, I'm voting Cabrera now.

What about Orestes Destrade?

I voted for Jeff Conine. He was on the 1997 championship team and in 2003, he was brought back to Florida to help them down the stretch in what would eventually be another world title.

Nobody stays with the Fish long enough to get an identity with them, Conine get my votes for his two stints, both with rings.
