View Full Version : Stop Making a Big Deal over Pudge's Celebration Last Night.

With two outs in the 9th, down by one run, I'd celebrate like that too if I hit a homerun to win the game. That was a really charging and exciting moment, especially considering the night before. You guys make it sound like he did the worm and breakdanced while on the basepaths. Did that really affect you guys that much that he celebrated?

Pudge retired a number of years ago, and works in the front office for the Boston Red Sox.

Why are you wasting bandwidth with this drivel?

And not 5 minutes after a Sox loss to boot....

I'm all for other fans posting here, but you Tigger fans take it to an extreme.

Exactly!

BTW, does anyone know the origin of this whole "Pudge" Rodriguez thing? Just curious, because I have always thought it disrespectful of the real, true, one-and-only, Hall-of-Fame Pudge.

Let's just sweep the 2005 .444 SLG% and 2006 .445 SLG% under the rug shall we.

What kind of Jay Mariotti runs around with both hands in the air, slows down on the 3rd base line to throw his hlemet up in the air, and high fives the bat boy? Oh yeah, all against a 4th place team that is 26.5 games behind.

He must've been influenced by the ESPN little league World Series commericials

Like all the bad nicknames it was contrived. He certainly wouldn't have had it unless Fisk had it and happend to have played the same position. Way back when in Texas they figured he needed one.

There's an art to the nickname.

supposedly it was his nickname as a kid and it got reinforced in the majors since he's a catcher and you know, good.

Mary, I'd wait for an explanation from someone who's either objective or willing to admit what team he actually roots for.

Something tells me I'd wait a long time, Tee. I'm pretty sure it was a marketing ploy. However, I think what annoys me most is that anyone--I-roid, his agent, whoever--actually had the stones to apply Fisk's nickname to this wanna-be. What annoys me second-most is that the media has let him/them get away with it.

To me, and I'm sure to most Sox fans--it is blasphemy.

Right on, Mr X. I think he might have been even more juiced in his Rangers days. Check out his upper body in this Rangers photo:

Yeah especially around 2000 when he was putting up those sick numbers. In the early 90s he was a singles hitter. :?:

In Florida he was heavier than with the Rangers, a little pudgier...then he goes to Detwah and turns into a stick.

That does it, the next kitten fan who even comes close to trolling doesn't come back until next April.

Go defend the jackasses on your team, their behavior, their attitude, their record and anything else that needs defending on a kittens site. I am over it.

Considering it's a White Sox board, I think we're allowed to complain about other teams and other ******* players. I wouldn't go on a Tigers board and tell the fans to stop hating AJ or something that he did.

edit: Looks like Voodoo beat me to it.
