It has been awhile since the ESPN Ombudsman has been heard from, but he really doesn't shed any new light on the situation.

But what baffles many ESPN viewers is ESPN itself

Next time: We get into ESPN's selection of games.

I can't wait to see this story!

Harold should have been fired about 6 years ago when he said the following nonsensical comment:

Frank Thomas and Jason Giambi aren't valuable players because they clog the bases.

What he said is no worse than what Rob Dibble is saying right now to someone.

The Baseball Tonight guys all suck.

You guys read the whole article? Talked about how Stephen A Smith is whining about his show not getting support from ESPN. I personally think the guy is a jagbag and pompous and it oozes that even more on his show. That whole show is like its host....garbage.

Stephen A. Smith takes sucking to a whole new level of suck-ti-tude. He makes the entire crew on Baseball Tonight sound like baseball gods, and those guys SUCK. The very fact that he even has his own show is a mystery, as I heard that a while ago, ESPN did an informal survey of who people would like, and not like, to host a new sports talk show. He was far and away, the least popular, and most hated choice offered, when the results were tallied up. Brantly, Berman, Kruk, and some of the others are absolute embarrassments to that station. Screamin' Stephen A. is an abomination.

you think with being ESPN and all, they could get the best. The writers are even worse. Rob Neyer in a chat was asked why he only answers red sox and yankee questions, he wrote because its his chat and he wants to talk about his team. He wrote how it pains him to say the yankees are better with abreu. I mean common, UNBIAS writing? David Ortiz is going to he handed the MVP because he is all ESPN shows, and guys like Jermaine Dye get no hype because they play in chicago. Dont Fire Reynolds, Fire the entire station. He is probably gone because he talked about the 27 other teams in baseball too much.

Why? He sucks too. He may be the tallest midget on baseball Tonight but he is still a midget.

Ok, I may be a bit off base here, and if I am, please just delete this post and not the whole thread...

It ticks me off at the hypocracy of ESPN (or any other media outlet) when there is a story about one of their anchors/reporters and they choose to sweep it under the rug as it if was not news, when you know darn well that they make their living out of the promoting of misfortunes/ fortunes of others (Diane Burns are you listening?). What is good for the goose is good for the gander....

Sorry, but losing to the Royals puts me in this kind of mood.....

How does Gammons suck? Because he didn't pick the Sox to win it last year? Gammons is one of the smartest baseball minds ever and he's in the Hall of Fame for a reason. Gammons is great, especially compared to retards like Kruk, Martinez and Olney.

Gammons sucks because he once said that putting Keith Foulke in in the 9th inning of a blowout Red Sox/Yankees game was a good idea because he had NEVER pitched in a game of that magnitude and he needed to get used to the pressure.

A)It was the second game of the season.
B)Foulke had just pitched in relief during the ALCS for the Oakland A's the year before.

God knows nothing's bigger than Yanks/Carmines!!!

I can't believe that I've actually wasted part of my life watching just ONE episode of his stupid show. Hey, Stephen A. Smith. Quite Frankly, I think your show sucks.

Stephen A. Smith forget one simple principle. If you have a microphone, THERE IS NO REASON TO SCREAM. Besides that, his show still blows goats.

Nobody really knows. That's why the thing was a surprise. They just announced it last week, said one or two "he aint here anymore" news releases, and that was that.

Having had the displeasure of meeting him a few years back, I can tell you he's a first class jerk.

You maybe the first person I have ever heard calling Gammons a jerk. I have never seen him not talk to fans in a ballpark ( except when on-air came first )

I hope Peter is doing better, there has been no news since he went into rehab.

Have you ever noticed that whenever somebody posts here about some famous person being a good guy, there is always somebody who says, "I met him once and he was a jerk."

Somehow I suspect that the meeting involved interrupting the famous person's dinner, an autograph, and alcohol consumption by the complainer.

I was working at a hotel when Gammons was in Milwaukee for the 2002 All Star Game. As I was escorting him to his room, carrying his bags, he didn't so much as look me in the eye or acknowledge my existence, except to remark how he couldn't believe baseball was holding its All Star Game "in the boonies." He didn't thank me for carrying his bags, and he was the only ESPN personality I met that day who didn't tip. As I left, wishing him a pleasant stay he ignored the comment.

Total jackass.

Unsubstantiated rumor has him making extremely unwelcome passes at a female production assistant.
