VERO BEACH, Fla. -- A minor-league pitcher in the Los Angeles Dodgers (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/clubhouse?team=lad)' system was arrested after being accused of breaking into several suites at Dodgertown and stealing credit cards and cash from his teammates.

I guess the Dodgers aren't paying their prospects well??? :o:

Christopher Hobdy, a 19-year-old pitcher for the Gulf Coast Dodgers in the rookie Gulf Coast League, was arrested Wednesday night and charged with seven counts of burglary and six counts of petit theft.Looks like the AP needs some better proofreaders.

Were they also trying to steal an Astros' lefthander to replace the deposed Odalis Perez?

Those guys in extended spring training and at the minor league complexes are all making $1,000-1,500 per month, tops...most of them are Latin players.

I know that there were a few similar incidents like this in Bradenton when I worked for the Pirates. It's just that the majority of them stay "inside the clubhouse" and are dealt with internally by the organization (if the players are lucky....and it depends on how good a prospect the guy is)

Some jurisdictions still call petty theft petit theft.
