It seems like a lot of guys get a jersey with a younger guy/ rookies name on it to be ahead of the curve. Just wondering who turned out to be the biggest bust after you bought a jersey with there name all over it?

I have a David Riske jersey I bought a couple of days after the Sox got him. Seems, pretty strange I know, but I got it for alterior motives, we have the same last name.

I have yet to see somebody else at the park besides him and I with a Riske-54 jersey!

I bought a Loaiza one, the All Star jersey, but I don't consider it a bust jersey, he was a 2 time All Star for us, and we traded him away when he was 9-5....I got a Bueherle one this X-Mas and although his recent play is horrible, I will never consider him a bust....the other one I got is AJ and so far, so good with him....My friend bought a Wells jersey (#33), got the Wells removed and got Rowand....got Rowand removed, much to our dislike, and got VAZQUEZ....ouch!

I got a Ray Durham jersey, and that lasted from 1998-2001. Three years isn't too bad.

I've had good luck with my Sox jerseys. Konerko, Buerhle, Uribe, Pods, and Guillen are still around.

My worst buy was probably a Travis Henry Bills jersey. He didn't last too long in Buffalo.

Crazy! I picked up the Loaiza jersey at the All Star game and then after xmas this year I got a Buehrle WS road jersey in memory of his game 3 save. I picked up one for this kid Thomas but he just ended up injured for several years.

I no longer buy jerseys with players names. My brother gave me a Mags jersey in 2003, and it's been hanging on a hook for the past two years. I only get them especially made with my name on them. Because, I don't have to worry about myself changing teams and not disliking myself. Disliking myself is very hard considering I'm the most self-centered person I know. :D:

Here's the best part: I bought it AFTER he got traded. :D:
The local mall had a huge store that sold nothing but jerseys, and they had Maggs and Lee for like, $20-30 (This was right after they were both gone). You can't beat a deal like that.

I"ve got a Billy Koch jersey, not that I'm not proud of it. I still wear it proudly.

The 2004 Soxfest was selling the Koch t-shirt jerseys for $5.00. It was quite the discount considering he was still on the team. I asked my son if he wanted one and he replied "Dad do you want me to be picked on in school."

Also, the vendor said about 500 people asked him " I get the shirt and $5.00"

I think the biggest mistake Sox jersey I ever had was Jim Kern. All the hopes of him being a great closer on the 1983 Sox resulted in 2/3 of an inning. Now that was a short year!! But hey, I was only 15 at the time.

The worst two fan jerseys I ever saw were Jeff Bittiger and Billy Jo Robidoux.

Luckily for me, the only jersey I currently have with a name on it is my trusty green & gold #4...Brett Favre. :D:

And the Crede T-shirt jersey. I gave the Albert Belle shirt away a few years ago.

But I have two nameless & numberless Sox jerseys and a Bears' one with #87, which was a Tom Waddle at the time I got it. I think he retired the following year, but it makes for a great conversation piece.

The biggest "mistake" I've ever made was buying two jerseys that have the World Series logo on the sleeve with champions underneath. I'm not upset but the guy said that was the one the players were going to wear, the next day at SoxFest they unveiled the logo and it wasn't the same one. Was the person wearing it a tall girl with long blond hair? If so it was my sister-in-law. She bought it for me at the garage sale one year but it was no match for my jumbo-petite body. So now she wears it sometimes.

Anyway, I know these two aren't Sox related but...
