July 29, 1963- Facing the Senators in Washington, Sox pitcher Joe Horlen takes a no hitter into the 9th inning. Only leading 1-0 and under incredible pressure, Horlen not only loses the no hitter but the game 2-1, asChuck Hinton grounds a roller up the middle and Don Lock belts a two run homer. Horlen looked ready to cry on the post game show talking with Jack Brickhouse. (Both Horlen and his catcher, J.C. Martin talk about this night in their interviews with White Sox Interactive.com)
