I just was wondering if anybody new what happend to Shingo Takatsu. He was a great closer in 2004 then he struggled a little bit in 2005 and I think went to the NY mets but I havent heard anything about him this season, I didnt even hear anything about him getting a ring either. I think that he would be great to have in the bullpen right now.

I think he went back to play in Japan.
I am almost positive he got a ring
EDIT: http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/whitesox/cs-060710soxshingo,1,5109858.story?coll=cs-whitesox-headlines Article that confirms both (interesting that he wants to come back)

he did get a ring. At the game they had his name on the board for players who weren't able to be at the game.

He was good while the mistique lasted, but we just released a reliever with an 84 MPH fastball and hanging off-speed stuff, why do we need another one.
Maybe with the scrubs trading Willamson, they have an opening for another mediocre pitcher.

Shingo did a nice job for the Sox while he was around. It's a shame that he was never able to find himself in '05, but I always appreciated his effort during the '04 season.
Plus, the "gong" noise that accompanied his enterance spawned one of the greatest threads in WSI history.
