What would your team be like

My team would be

C- Carlton Fisk
1B- Dick Allen
2B- Jorge Orta
SS- Ozzie Guillen
3B- Robin Ventura
DH- Frank Thomas
RF- Harold Baines
CF-Chet Lemon
LF- Tim Raines

Starters
Jack Mc Dowell
Lamarr Hoyt
Mark Buehrle
Richard Dotson
Wilbur Wood

Closer
Bobby Thigpen

1976 - 30 years ago, right? I think Dick Allen was long gone by '76. Better put in Konerko at first.

I like the team except for the closer. I'd take Farmer or Jenks. Thigpen always scared me even the year he saved 57, I think he gave a leadoff walk in 56 of those saves.

Also a small note, this list would be for the players of the last 34 years, I think Dick Allen was on the Phillies by 1976.

As much as Sox fans connect him with the team, Allen was only on the South Side for three seasons (1972-74), and only played half of 1973. He does belong in the Hall, his numbers don't look great compared to today but played in a pitcher's era. Compared to his peers, his numbers stand out.
