Here's a completely useless but fun exercise in looking ahead at the schedule through the month of August. I'm not going to look ahead at the Tigers' or Twins' schedules, since the Sox (and Sox fans) really should focus on winning as many games as possible - not counting on other teams to lose. I think they will do that. My predictions are in red.

7/24-26: 3 v. MIN: Sox take 2 of 3 (beat Radke and Silva, lose to Santana)

7/28-30: 3 @ BAL: Sox sweep
7/31-8/2: 3 @ KC: Sox sweep

8/4-6: 3 @ TOR: Sox lose 2 on the turf
8/7: 1 v. LAA: win
8/8-10: 3 v. NYY: Sox send a message by taking 2 of 3
8/11-13: 3 v. DET: Sox send a another message by winning 2
8/14-17: 4 v. KC: Sox take 3 (My presence at WSI Fest jinxes them :(:)
8/18-20: 3 @ MIN: Sox lose 2 in the hump dome
8/21-24: 4 @ DET: Split
8/25-27: 3 v. MIN: Sox take 2 at home
8/28: off day (record at 80-49)
8/29-31: 3 v. TB: Sox sweep; Rays suck outside the dump dome
Predicted record, 7/24-8/31: 25-11, .694
Predicted record on Sept. 1: 83-49, .628, 2nd place, three games out

I know the Tigers are playing a lot of good teams until the end of August, but that would be a 10.5 game turnaround in about 5 weeks. I think we'll be a game back by September 1, and we'll have gained a stronger lead in the wild card.
