Rick Hahn was promoted to assistant general manager Saturday, filling a position that had been vacant since former assistant GM Dan Evans left the organization following Ken Williams' promotion to GM.

Also moving up is scouting director Duane Shaffer, who becomes the new senior director of player personnel.

What's the background on Hahn?

On a side note: I bought a 1917 fitted SOX cap today. It's a nice fit.

Nothing like starting off a conversation: Hello, I'm Rick Hahn, the new Chicago White Sox name-checker. I guess I have some sort of executive job, too.

I wish they cost less. I paid $25. I'm going to try to get my mom to make me a WSI patch to put on it. You know, advertise the site.
