I know a lot of people knocked the Ken Burns BASEBALL series of a decade ago but it did introduce Buck O'Neil to millions. May he get a long standing ovation tonight

Video of the historic at bat at this link

Before the Northern League All-Star Game Tuesday night, the last time Buck O’Neil swung at a pitch was in 1955.
Back then, the bats were a bit lighter — but the Kansas City summers were still sweltering, so O’Neil felt right at home during his historical moment in front of 5,975 at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

Why did people knock the Burns documentary? I thought it was done extremely well.

some didn't like his choice of following Brooklyn and Boston during the series. My understanding is Burns is finally working on the 10th inning which will focus on Steinbrenner and the Yankees.

"East Coast bias! East Coast bias!"

I guess its no different than his "Jazz" when he basically inferred that everyone white person from that era was a racist except for Benny Goodman...
