Got an e-mail from Sox author / historian Rich Lindberg last night (feel free to look up his interview with WSI) and he tells me his 'White Sox Encyclopedia' is being updated.

The new version will be out in October and will include the 2005 season.

The publisher is Triumph Books.

I told myself I wouldn't buy this until the Sox win a championship that's included in the book. This will be a great addition to any Sox fan's library. Looking forward to the new edition.

Should be out soon. The info is updated and the cover is already done, Scott Pod's head first slide. Pretty nice! Great job by Sox fan Mark Fletcher doing all the photography work once again!!

Is there any way to see the cover?
Will there be colour sections again?

Terry Bevington still reigned in the dugout.

As in,...... Reign of Terror? or Rain of Terrible?

Would the updated Lindberg book be the same as this (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/157243919X/026-6949343-0208416?v=glance&n=266239)?

Amazon UK lists Ozzie as its author , but it is published by Triumph.

From the American version of Amazon.com. This price is amazing if it is indeed the same book. It's almost worth jumping on now. The original Encyclopedia was around $70.

Seņor Guillen prolly wrote the Foreward, hence the author credit.

Rich contacted me again and supplied the following info:

"It is the Encyclopedia with a new name and a new publisher -- Triumph Books here in Chicago. It tops out at over 600 pages, with a lot of new material photos, and updated seasons through 2005."

Yikes! :o:

Yes, there will be a color section again with the generation photo layouts. those are really nice. Mark Fletcher does all the photogrpahy for those and some of his collection is featured in the photos.

They finally got away from the Temple Press which published the last Sox Encyclopedia. I had talked to Temple Press last year in August and they were thinking of doing new White Sox book, but never got past the "thinking" stage. Rich went ahead and got the ball rolling last fall and got it all done. Congrats to him. This book will be the best yet.
